So when we come out running more nickel and dime you'll be praising Al for a great adjustment ? It won't be " about **** time you make a basic adjustment, but it took 4 years to make it"?
The D will be better next year , not because of more talent but more to do with adjusting their scheme . Fans have been ****ing about the lbs on the field all year, then after the season Al says " we need to run more nickel and dime next year". No **** ?
Why did it take a full season to figure that out, especially when your cb are your strength?
That's proof alone stupid fans had more sense than a pro making 2 million a year. It's basic high school football sense , that's concerning .
Btw, you have to be a troll or related to Golden.
Did this fool just say we won't have better talent this year?
Actually I didn't , I said the D will be better " more" to do with adjustment of scheme than talent. It's called reading comprehension sport.
The staff knows what they're doing isn't working, they hear all the talk. That's why Al threw the whole " more nickel and dime next year " statement out. Like he'd just found the ark of defenses , even though it's basic as ****.
Btw, the talent will technically be better but majority of the improved talent is freshmen, so that won't be a huge difference, especially in the trenches .
Ok just checking.
But don't flatter yourself in thinking Golden and D'onforio are talking more nickel and Dime because fans have mentioned it.
It had more to do with being stubborn and sticking with one coverage concept than them not knowing about Nickel and Dime. I mean c'mon dude seriously.
It's just that with this defense it was pick your poison. Really wouldn't have mattered if they went nickel and dime without the front 4 generating a consistent pass rush.
They were banking on a 3-4 zone blitz, stunting, disguising coverages and dropping DL in robber zones in the hopes of confusing the QBs into making an errant throw. It worked vs UF and seems like they stuck with it all season. Problem was with QB's that can buy time with their feet killed us.
But like I said, it wouldn't have mattered much if we went N&D without a pass rush. Would have left us vulnerable to running plays, draws out, read options out of spreads offensive formations.
