Heisman Race

***** the bias rankings by voters that are just reading scores the following morning

Miami has
Louisville
Va Tech
Syracuse

Pitt was undefeated and weren't even ranked thats all I need to know about those voters
I don’t know what point you are trying to make. That a couple 5-3 ACC teams should be ranked right now?

How many games do we lose if he not playing at a heisman level? We clearly better with him having monster games
Him playing at Heisman level and him being in the Heisman race is two different things. Which is why I said CIS will hate the comment but not truly understand the meaning behind it.

The reality is it is unlikely that we win the National Championship this year, we all hope so, but it's unlikely. Ward has top 3 odds to win the Heisman trophy and that will be something to commemorate this season for eternity. Having a Heisman winner will be a huge selling point for us. Whether Ward is in contention or not will not affect how far we get in the playoffs that's absurd.

but it's impossible to separate those two things. Sure, in an ideal world you wouldn't have potential distractions of the heisman race, but theres a reason that cam and others came here in the first place. You can't sell to recruits that you want them to come here and ball out but you don't want them to get recognition for it.

Ward not being in the heisman race at the end of the day means the offense isn't playing up to its full capacity and if someone is comfortable with that with the state of the defense then I don't know what to tell them.

The reality is that the probability of an upset is reduced with a run-first ball control offense when playing lesser competition. We can’t win 2 games in the playoffs with a run first ball control offense, but the likelihood of getting there at this point increases the more “tuff & physical” we are the next 4 games.

Cam is brilliant and amazing but he doesn’t consistently do the easy things and he’s not immune to making costly mistakes. But he wont sniff the Heisman without 350+ ypg and 3 TD/gm… the pursuit of which can end up with a Cal first half situation.

So while I would love to see Cam win the Heisman, I tend to agree with @IndayArtHauz

You made some very good point and that’s why I said KINDA agree with the post that I was replied too.

That doesn’t make any sense. The meaning behind it doesn’t make sense from an on-field or recruiting perspective. In a 12 team playoff, no way even a 1 loss team with a heisman finalist gets left out and a heisman finalist is going to have recruits watching the games i’d think.

In no way is Miami better without Ward being in the race.
