Heisman Race

I don’t think he needs to match what Burrow did. Burrow’s 2019 season was the stuff of legend.

Probably a better comp that he would need to mirror is guys like Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Bryce Young.
I just think he would need to be in that 4,400 40 TD range to match up well. Jayden Daniels only had 3,800 yards passing right? But he also had 1,100 yards rushing and had 50 total TDs

Let’s not pretend like Oregon has some crazy hard schedule either. Besides Ohio State, their schedule kinda sucks too.
You can play that game of thinking nobody should be ranked what they are if you want to. here are the facts, as of today:

Oregon ranked opponents on schedule:
- #4 Ohio State
- #15 Boise State
- #22 Illinois
- #24 Michigan

Miami ranked opponents on schedule:
-

Florida is not a complete tomato can, they have been competitive in their games and Cam’s numbers have been the same regardless of comp level.

Cam needs to explode the stat book also. People are talking about strength of schedule for Jeanty, well our opponents so far are 16-19 and we beat two of them on late game controversial calls, with nobody ranked on the docket as of today. Our schedule is very very bad, and our conference wins so far against a combined 1-4 acc record is not impressive.

Just like how Jeanty is putting up monster stats but needs to worry about Cam running the table, It can be the same situation with Cam and Gabriel. Cam will out stat Gabriel this year almost certainly, but if Oregon is 12-0 heading into the post season there will be people looking to crown him because miami plays nobody.

It's probably a good thing humans have eyes then.

There's a reason Cam is considered ahead of Gabriel right now. People have watched both them play. Cam is a true difference maker while Gabriel is just a very good QB. I mean sure if it's close between them Gabriel would probably win, but right now I don't think many people think it is

But focusing on SOS really makes no sense when a G5 player would win the award if they gave it out today.

Hunter bleeds votes from Jeanty more than he does from Cam so him having a revival isn’t a bad thing necessarily.

***** the bias rankings by voters that are just reading scores the following morning

Miami has
Louisville
Va Tech
Syracuse

Pitt was undefeated and weren't even ranked thats all I need to know about those voters

Hunter is the media darling right now. They can't stop slobbering all over him.

I disagree. Jeanty is the one they're gassing. If it comes down to Ward, Jeanty and Hunter, Jeanty will win it. The Deion hate will take votes from Hunter. I can see the Heisman voters giving it to Jeanty to pat themselves on the back and show everyone how righteous they are by giving it to a P4 player.
