I have high hopes for 2013, and Golden has had plenty of time to have us in a position to be very successful. We still lost to UNC that year because Butch owned Radio. Then Radio capped the season off in embarrassing fashion losing to Wisconsin. But it was cold in Orlando that night so that was understandable.

You and I agree on a lot of things, but the answer to your question plain and simple was a monster class in 2008. People want to knock that class all they want but the raw talent was there, it just never developed and ended up being mentally weak. The following year when Shannon got fired was supposed to be the year we should have contended for a BCS bowl. Like I said this team has know reason not to make some noise this year, we need to win at minimum 8 games. I say 8 because 8 and having a bunch of breaks go against us is fine, but no less than that. Also I can take losing to UF and FSU, but I cant accept going forward losing to teams like UVA and Maryland.

Again, what does Randy have to do with anything? Goldens has gone 13-11 here with losses to Maryland, BC, UVA, UVA, UNC, KSU, KSU, FSU, FSU, VT, ND. Only three losses to bad teams. Nobody is saying he should have gone 24-0 his first two years, but he's had time to get things fixed. This isn't such a massive rebuilding job. Put up or shut up in 2013.

I disagree, which is why I started this thread. If you look at the NFL draft recently, and the complete dearth of impact Miami has had on it, it reflects exactly how decimated the talent level was when Shannon left. Its unbelievable and it was even getting worse (look at Shannon's commitment list when he was fired in February- no one was coming). His last two classes killed us. If he were still here, we'd probably be a 3 win team.

I remember when Golden and Coach D got here and hearing how shocked they were at the talent level they found.

This is a full re-boot, and that takes time. We're STILL lacking a lot at the older end of our roster and are still being forced to play kids too early. ****, they are COUNTING on at least 6 or 7 kids from THIS class to have an impact these season. That's absurd. We still have depth issues. Will be better next year. Can we win this year? **** ya. I am looking for a 9 win season as a platform to some very good years in the middle of the decade.

Why is this necessary? Who cares when a player was recruited? All that we SHOULD care about is how he plays and can he play? If one coach got SQUAT out of player X and another coach got much more out of player X (i.e. improvement), is that what really matters?

Butch has at least done something in his career and has the best eye for talent in the country. What's Golden's excuse for being Mike London's *****?
