Des saying it on Gameday

Not so sure I would agree. Historically Miami has had more success ( 5 NCs) than Oregon in football. Better local recruiting base. Better location. Bigger tv market.

Any coach would look at this job, with the current level of financial commitment, as a destination job.

As great as all these changes are, Oregon already operates in a manner that UM is striving for. That Nike $ has kept a school, with no local recruiting base, competitive in the Pac12. And, just about everything he'll change/improve on in Coral Gables (ex: S&C), he's already addressed in Eugene.

Mario offers us a very unique situation. He not only can attract recruits, but also has attracted some big $ donors who are vested in seeing him succeed here at UM. He, also, can and, apparently has, leveraged UM into making a financial commitment to its football program like we've never seen before. To me, this is what excites me about MC the most, is he already has the pull to make some serious changes to this football program. And, with his experience from Bama and Oregon, as a fan, I expect him to incorporate alot of what he saw in Tuscaloosa and Eugene, in Coral Gables.

Besides, being HOME, I don't know what else would draw him here. But, I completely understand why he would want to 'come home'. Especially when you consider he has a sick family member he's close to.

Historically, I agree, UMs football program has had more success. But today, Oregon is a better job, imo. They are a more stable program with a clear direction. They have more talent, but a terrible QB.

A little patience and faith goes a long way. It’s like everything else in life, if you believe it’s happening in the snap of a finger, you’re lying, stupid or both. We’ve got our AD and our coach. Time to stack chips and being this program to the top of the mountain again. Be scared college football, Miami is Back.

@Cribby lol Do people understand when we say things sometimes it's because we know specific facts?
It was ALL about Mario. Mario was being hired before Manny until Blake went off script.

Don't try to pull Cribby into this and don't act like "we" (meaning you) know specific facts.

There were plenty of reasons to fire Beta Blake, but he was never making it to the end of the season once it became clear that Manny would go too, and Mario would be our primary target.

And don't play cute with me. I am on the record, both on the board and in DMs and e-mails, that Blake should have been fired early in the 2021 football season as a signal and prelude to hiring a new coach. But I am also on the record listing the many reasons for Blake to be fired for YEARS now.

imo we should have 8 titles because we'd beat Oklahoma in 2000, we beat osu in 2002, and that Cleveland Gary fumble against nd was bs.
Thats not even counting the 86 Sugar Bowl and the 87 Fiesta. Yeah Miami lost but those were still games for the title.

You said who hired Lashlee? If you want to give Manny credit for that so be it. But he has made terrible hires that give me no confidence in his hiring abilities.
I never said Manny hasn't made bad hires. I'm saying y'all don't blame his losses on the bad hires so don't credit his wins to the good ones. keep the same energy.

Here’s the bigger picture, for such an irrelevant program, why are we getting so much pub on championship weekend?
exactly GIF

my point was this was all done to get Mario here. He hated Blake. you are missing the point.

Pollack stays doing a really good job of being the least likable person on the show
He’s up there...

But as far as analysts who cover college football for ESPN, no one & I mean no one is worse than Joey Galloway.

He’s the most smug arrogant hating *** prick I’ve ever seen. And I’m not even just talking about when he sh*ts on Miami, because tbh for the most part we’ve deserved it over the years, but his analysis of just about every other team in college football sounds like the inner monologue of someone who genuinely hates everyone & thinks he’s legit better than everybody.

If Mario does leave for Miami, I will be interested to see who Oregon gets as a replacement. For all this talk of "Nike Money" it does not appear that they have previously shelled out a lot of money for their football coach and if reports are true (huge caveat) their extension offer to Mario is below market.

I remember Galloway ****ting on Deriq King for redshirting and entering the transfer portal. He said it was bad for the sport.

Absolute A grade ****.

Pollack is an sec fanboy obviously. He doesn’t want any other conference having good teams
Pollack is absolutely an $ec fanboy who will use his platform to promote them and especially jawja as much as possible. People can say what they want, espn is very onesided towards the $ec however you have Des and Herb who have typically shown love to the U because they know if all the pieces fall in to place this school will be a juggernaut in college football. Love us or hate us but Collin Cowherd says it best, when the U is good so is college football. Look at how every team that has beaten us over the past 15 years that we have been down celebrate after the win. If you can beat a Miami team, even if they are a bad Miami team, the competition always celebrate like they just won a Natty, again let me reiterate david pollack is a cuck and I wish him nothing but the worst.

I’m following you. This is Manny’s ship so he’s gets credit and blame from me. Hiring Lashlee was a good move and deserves credit for it.
