Des saying it on Gameday

Not so sure I would agree. Historically Miami has had more success ( 5 NCs) than Oregon in football. Better local recruiting base. Better location. Bigger tv market.

Any coach would look at this job, with the current level of financial commitment, as a destination job.
Just remember we have won 1 NC in the last 20 years. The 80s are far gone. So when you say historically you are correct. It's like when we were winning championships in the 80s and Michigan St looking back in the 60s talking about their glory days.

But I do agree Miami has more built in advantages than Oregon.

Right. That was the perfect opening for Kirk to speak up and say "Hey guys, remember when I talked about this two months ago, well I am well-connected and I know the Miami situation. They listened to me and targeted a top AD and a top HC."

Instead...he reminded us that "Manny is still the coach and had them playing hard 'all the way through', you know, except for the first 6 games..."
You cannot hammer the administration for being disinterested then criticize them for throwing nonsense when they make big moves. Herbie is no fan. He is a college football guy.

ok. Im not a huge Mario defender, I want him to get his shot but I think @Cribby @Brooklyndee @Sebastianspipe @SWFLHurricane @JayCane20 and others who are in the know can confirm Mario was never coming to UM if Blake was here. After mich state, Blake and Manny were done. The talks with Marios people hit a high point the week of the first Utah game. look at him that week, he was distracted. One thing I was always told was Morehead wasnt coming here. now morhead is taking the Akron job and Mario's people are basically trying to lock things up all week. you dont think they were both distracted? I'm not defending him but @Dwinstitles can confirm I have had talks with him going back weeks and this has been a consistent story line. I have people I trust who tell me stuff and I know the guys I tagged are in the know more than me and none of them has ever throw BS my way. Once again, im not looking like a Mario slurper but the guy who played under JJ, had a brother play here, started coaching under Butch, and has his whole family in So Fla is on the verge of being the savior of his alma matar. you dont think he's distracted?

Having an ill mother is already a distraction.

Contract negotiations make focusing on being a coach very difficult.

this is the opportunity of a lifetime. everyone like Oregon is heaven. asks guys like @Brooklyndee & @SWFLHurricane how much UM, Butch Davis, and Jimmy Johnson mean to Mario. just because he isn't prancing around with a chain and hashtags, doesnt mean hes not emotionally tied to um

I posted a long time ago Mario would never come as long as he was there.

Not just that, he is pretty much the guy who will get everything he wants. Its a priviledge no Miami coach has had.

He knows, if he turns this around, he will always be remembered forever.
