Des saying it on Gameday

People are literally talking about building a statue to Herbie at the University Of Miami.

They are just fan boys that need a reason to love this guy. Look he seems like a nice enough guy. He doesn’t come across as super intelligent though, and that oft referenced rant came straight from Vilma, as we found out. So maybe we just need to tone it down on the Herbie love a little bit.

Herbstreit is a snake, but we as a fanbase are so beaten down from 20 years of mediocrity that we eagerly snap up any meaningless crumbs tossed our way.

F that Ohio State fan boy.

We have not had the level of commitment financially the last 20 years so that is why I included that factor.
I don't think we had any "financial commitment" during the time in the 80s/early 90s when we won four NCs. Probably a lot less than in this century.

I don’t know, maybe Herby has a fondness for Miami from whenever. But being on Gameday, he’s also got an image and a brand.
I knew a dude who went to FSU that said Corso seemed to pick against the noles more than most, probably to avoid looking like a homer on national coverage.
I’m just saying Herby has a motivation, being from Ohio St, to advertise an affinity for Miami because he will look more objective. And ESPN of course has played both sides of the “hate Miami” vs “love Miami” to maximize ratings. They may have given him this role.

Pollack stays doing a really good job of being the least likable person on the show
Pollack gotta have family in North Florida because he reminds me of all the dipsh!t frat boys I knew from living in Tally and Gainesville.

I mute the TV when it even looks like there a chance his dumb *** might start talking

I wouldn't call him a snake. He knows a good Miami is good for business. Some of ESPN's highest rated games involve Miami.

No, but he was **** fast, I think he was in the 4.25-4.30 range.

That’s the one thing I remember about him is the speed. He was a very good wide receiver in the NFL but he bounced around a lot, and I don’t think he ever made a pro bowl. And yeah the main thing I remember about him is hes from fūcking Ohio State.

But to get back to what I originally asked, I’m with you.

It’s been stated that he ran a 4.1 something but I don’t think it’s ever been actually confirmed. I do believe he’s definitely in the 4.2 to 4.3 range just from having seen him run.

Herbie pimpin' Manny. Why you gotta break my heart like that?
Herbie is not a cane he is an OSU suckeye his job is to be a **** stirrer. You think before he made the remark about the lack of commitment from the bot he didn’t read this board. That’s what they do it’s their job. Herbie would never want to see Miami dominate again. At Miami Mario would be a recruiting god.

Thanks.

Manny wouldn't have won more than 3 games this year without Lashlee
That’s how it works. I’m tired of this attitude that coach X wouldn’t have won if not for this other coach or that player. No sh*t. His job is to get those players and those coaches. If Lashlee does well that means Manny did that part of his job. It’s f**king ridiculous that people can’t accept the guy actually did some good things, still failed overall, and needs to go. Those aren’t mutually exclusive.

Diaz gets some credit. He hired OCs with an eye for talent. Between Enos and Lashlee, we had an incredible QB room. King, TVD, Garcia. Most coaches in the country would give their left nut for one of the three, and we had all 3 at the same time.

So Herbie starts this **** with his scathing (and warranted) comments about the "U" on national TV, and now he's gonna throw a pity party for Manny??
I don't think Herbie realized what he was doing when he said that. If anything, he thought it MIGHT force the school to spend more. Instead, Frenk did a top-down evaluation of the way athletics are handled. Especially football. Throw in some mouthy billionaires and few contol-freak BOT members and here we are. I think he feels guilty that he was the spark that lit the flame for getting Manny fired.

They insinuated we should keep Manny by saying our players didn't quit on him like Oregon players did... Just last night he said our UNC game last year was the worst motivated team he's ever seen with stuff still on the line

They also left off records and conference championships when comparing

Its a fair comparison of how each team played through coaching uncertainty

I don't get the hate for herbstreit, seems like a pretty solid dude who loves college football but obviously Is a tOSU fan...
