We torched Syracuse and Cam had maybe one or two scrambles. We also had one of the most efficient rushing attacks in college football. I am not saying that Cam didn't help in a big way. But giving Dawson zero credit is wild to me.

I know all of these aren’t going to happen, but Mario needs these caliber of names to have a Top-5 defense and continue bringing in top players on defense. Somebody said it on here best, this program is spending too much money on mid players while missing on big ones:
  1. Clint Hurtt
  2. Jason Taylor
  3. Manny Diaz
  4. Will Muschamp
  5. Jim Knowles
  6. Wink Martindale
  7. Tim Banks
  8. Corey Raymond
  9. Clayton White
  10. Ryan Walters

JT doesn't get along great with Guidry. Even Guidry said in presser that JT was pointing stuff out to him. JT has been trying to correct things with guidry but this cajun goofball is clearly stubborn.

Makes sense, definitely need a shakeup on that side of the ball.
 
I’m not going to pretend to know much about his philosophy or anything, but looking at year over year results Nick Benedetto seems to have performed a miracle at NIU. Just looking through potential up and comers.

Some year over year, starting with the year prior to him being there:

YPP: 120>77>37>7
Y/Pass: 106>122>12>8
Y/Rush: 124>34>73>20
3D%: 97>99>100>1
Sack Percentage: 105>20>101>7

Hire a defensive coordinator whose players lineup correctly, take proper angles, make tackles and effectively communicate. Someone who understands basic fundamental football. Someone who believes in setting the edge. Someone who doesn’t believe defensive lineman can cover running backs out of the backfield. Someone who doesn’t need gimmicks to get a pass rush.

Then have Mario fill the defensive roster with talented players and watch the defense thrive.

Lets not complicate things, get one of the Harbaugh guys like who is next in line Mike Macdonald/Jesse Minter mold.. That Michigan defense was one of best I ever saw..
