Wink, wink…#6 on name alone.
Wink, wink…#6 on name alone.
Can we delete some.I know all of these aren’t going to happen, but Mario needs these caliber of names to have a Top-5 defense and continue bringing in top players on defense. Somebody said it on here best, this program is spending too much money on mid players while missing on big ones:
Feel free to add more
- Clint Hurtt
- Jason Taylor
- Manny Diaz
- Will Muschamp
- Jim Knowles
- Wink Martindale
- Tim Banks
- Corey Raymond
- Clayton White
- Ryan Walters
Do you think Mario couldn't take Steele or Strong personalities? The biggest irony is Cristobal actually hired TWO solid DCs when he took the job. Both Kevin Steele and Charlie Skrong have forgotten more defense than Guidry has ever known. But I suspect they also had a little more feedback back Cristobal that he might not have liked, so Cristobal replaced them with a G5 coordinator who was just happy to be here.
UM fans dream that Cristobal is like Nick Saban. One of the things people overlook is that Saban didn’t care if he got along with his coaches. ONLY thing that mattered was performance. Saban could have a guy like Kiffin second guessing everything he did on offense, but if he did his job well on Saturday, he had place on the staff. Cristobal unfortunately seems to go in the opposite direction. His tendency when things go sideways is to hire coaches that don’t rock the boat.

he was very good at Mizzou also. he might want redemption. I'm not sure if he recruits at the level we need but he's young and he will teach kids the right way.Ryan Walters just got fired as Purdues HC. Should be Mario’s first call at DC. Dude was amazing at Illinios as their DC
Was just coming to state this + FL recruiting connects.Ryan Walters just got fired as Purdues HC. Should be Mario’s first call at DC. Dude was amazing at Illinios as their DC
suspect nothing . Steele didnt want to be here at his age in a rebuilt, the kids weren't up to par for him so he went to Bama which was a top tier program loaded with top recruits. Stop making stuff up. Steele didnt hide it.The biggest irony is Cristobal actually hired TWO solid DCs when he took the job. Tim DeRuyter.Well, somebody had to get it stated
Clayton White, DC at South Carolina?
This 100%. Get the right guy for the job. If the candidate is strong but also happens to be an alpha who wants ownership of the defense with minimal to no meddling, then hire him if he's the most qualified. I don't think that Mario would be capable of doing that but thats just based on conjectureThe biggest irony is Cristobal actually hired TWO solid DCs when he took the job. Would love to get Arnett. I mentioned Walters in another thread. I agree with your whole list (as usual).Brad White (UK), Clayton White (USCe), Clint Hurtt (Eagles DL Coach), Zach Arnett (Ole Miss Analyst), Ryan Walters (Purdue HC - is he fired yet?)
Short answer is yes because let’s be real, All we do was run up the gut with wide receiver screen from a bunch setTrue....but give Cam to Gattis the previous OC and do we still have the number 1 offense?
wtf are you talking about?Short answer is yes because let’s be real, All we do was run up the gut with wide receiver screen from a bunch set
Mario has no choice because he doesn’t know **** about defenseNo within the defensive staff regarding playcalling. I’m not sure about Mario and to what extent he’s involved there, I was under the assumption he let his DC’s do as they please.

Dawson look like *** before Cam got here so let’s not make Dawson to be some good OCwtf are you talking about?
So did Cam have the number 1 offense last year at Washington?Short answer is yes because let’s be real, All we do was run up the gut with wide receiver screen from a bunch set
next year is when you will find out if Dawson is good. TVD was HORRIFIC last year.Dawson look like *** before Cam got here so let’s not make Dawson to be some good OC
Both Dawson and Gattis ran bunch formations with wide receiver screens, and an overuse of running up the gut. So yea Cam would have made Gattis new good as well
