Dallas moved back to DB

Move makes sense since it really served no purposes to have him #2 behind Duke being that they were similar type of runners.
Duke and big boy Gus will make a dynamic one two punch. Thunder and lightning if you will.
Plus DC is playing his more natural position at Safety.
Golden is getting this program back to where players don't have to switch positions in order to fill a void in depth at certain positions.

Thunder and lighting is the most overrated, overused buzz-term of all time. **** is so overrated.

Gus isn't even a "thunder" player. He runs softer than both Duke and Dallas. I'd take Duke and Dallas over Duke and Gus.

Also, once Yearby gets healthy he'll probably jump Gus Bus for playing time. Lightning and Lightning. I don't need thunder.

Whatever. If Crawford is getting significant reps at RB we are likely f*cked anyway. Might as well see what he can do at safety.

Good move. Really wanna see Gus take advantage of this spring. We need a strong 1,2 punch.

This is a ploy to make our defense look better during the spring. Always marketing.

For you geniuses who negged, this was a joke about the "always marketing/branding" theme. Obviously, you don't move a player to make a defense look better. Yikes. Must have struck a nerve.

I have a couple of issues with this move.

Lack of depth at RB not only for the spring but for the season. Who cares about spring right, it's over rated.

We could probably get away with skipping spring practices from now on since they don't matter.

You guys trust Yearby and Gus in pass protection when Duke is not in the game? Our QB fittin to die.

If Dallas was such a "good/great" safety why move him knowing Highsmith and Rodgers were garbage?

Why move him in a year when Ray Ray was kicked off the team (he moved to RB the same season did he not)?

Either way Ray Ray was gone and we lacked depth.

He's played RB for 2 of his first 3 seasons at UM, but now he will be ready to contribute at a new position? I hope so but that's very difficult.

Last but not least.

How in the **** can we have such crap depth at a position like RB (don't they grow on trees in S. Florida)?

Duke, Yearby and Gus (who we had to get from New York of all places)! SMFH.

It is a god **** shame we have not been able to recruit the way a school like Miami should every season.

We are smack dab in the middle of the greatest hotbed of talent (especially skill players) in the country and all we have are two undersized shifty RB's and a big RB who runs scared (probably needed a RS).

Just a lot of dumbasses around here who are overly-sensitive to criticism of Saint Golden.

Complete and total truth.

Could be. Could also be people are just bored with the bashing, criticism or anti-Golden comedy routine in every thread.

I personally don't care who likes him or doesn't like him but **** it gets old when every thread goes down that path.

Trolling your own board, then commenting on being negged is amusing though.

I don't know if we'll need him much, but for those of you saying Gus the Bus, you all need to realize that he's just a FB waiting to happen.

The guy has issues running with lean and power now. He is gonna morph into a lead blocker now? Under Coley how much full back are we really gonna use anyway? We're a one-back zone team . They didn't try to go get a replacement for Hagens. Maybe it is Tucker after spring but the fullback is a minimized position in this scheme.

Tucker runs track. I don't think he'll be bulking up much.
He's lost close to 15 lbs. He was about 235 last year and now he's down to 218.

Don't know much about his running skills, but a 220lb track star with the ball sounds pretty good.

Do you guys that are saying this is a career ruining move not think that our coaching staff thought about this extensively and just as importantly, talk to Dallas about this switch to make sure he was on board wit it? Honest question.

I doubt they dd this out of the blue with no thought out into it and without Dallas's approval

Dallas was a monster at south ft. myers at DB FWIW. He was also great at QB but he was just too short for the college level.

I prefer the Duke/Dallas combo over Duke/(Last year's)Gus...

But I'd like to see an improved Gus get more touches. & for Tucker and De.Johnson to take next step.

Keep Dallas on the field. His HS tape @DB is nice.

It wasn't trolling. It was sarcasm about the very bashing you're referencing. Ironic. The second post was to clarify the first since I was literally getting comments. Super serious business here.

People are tired of the bashing. People are tired of the underwhelming play. People are tired of a lot of stuff. That's what the board is for, in part. If we stay this high strung in the offseason, without any football being played, it should be very miserable.

Based on Walter Tucker highlights I can why staff would want to get him alot of carries this spring in order to coach him up. While Dallas can move to Safety and be the head hunter we all know he is, it ends up being a win-win scenario.
