Dallas moved back to DB

I thought Dallas played well in spots. The timing seems odd at first, but it does make sense for him to get as many reps as possible at safety since that's where he'll be playing. I appreciate his excitement to make the switch.

Outlook at running back. In a surprising development, a UM spokesperson said Thursday that Dallas Crawford --– who had the second most carries last season --– is shifting to defensive back, with safety his most likely landing spot.

I'm happy bout this

Think is upside is higher at safety than at running back.

He deserves reps, based on what he's done for the team, I like him getting them more at DB than at RB.

this is an acknowledgement that Dallas isn't that good at running back, and he's not. he basically had two really good games against subpar defenses in 2013.

what he did last year was awesome and helped salvage the position after duke went down but he averaged 4 yards per carry which is *decent* for the NFL but not good at all for a team with aspirations of being back in the top 10-15 in the country.

he is obviously not a pro prospect at RB (or probably any position) but he is the 2nd best RB on our roster. mainly due to F.A.G.s complete failure at getting the handful of elite RB prospects in our backyard the last 2 years

Love it told everyone this would happen and got neg by so many

Kid has a future at S and likes to hit plus adds competition with Bush Jenkins Carter Hester

Yearby and Duke are going to get the carries no room for DC plus Edwards

Yearby and Duke are both coming off of broken bones i believe. Edwards looks like a major project at RB

obviously they are looking to rs some of the safeties. better to redshirt defensive guys. Maybe they are also thinking tray one gray gets in

Agree. Total and complete failure!!!!! We have nothing but JAGs at RB. I honestly think we forfeit this season and just recruit the whole time with our fingers crossed. JMHO.

I saw it but didn't mention it for some reason. Crawford had a black jersey(defense) on in that Utough video. We should've known a week ago.

Hardest hitter on special teams last year and he is quick which is something Jenkins is not.

Dallas was a ball hawk in H.S. , I think this move gives us a great rotation at safety this year. We should have fresh head hunters on the field at safety all game long. Jenkins and Bush get tired bring in Dallas and Carter. This will also allow Hester and Gayot to come along at the correct time, as we will not be forced to throw them in to early.

I suggested in a thread months ago that this happen. Dmoney said no way, he should be in slot. I respect Dmoney eye for talent. I think when I suggested it I was assuming we would get another RB in addition to JY. I think DC will be great there. I do however worry about our depth at RB now. Our version of the honey badger? I can only hope. Maybe the staff feels Trayone is gonna make it in. If he makes it in I'm good with everything. Absolute stud!

Dallas in an interview last year said that he prefers defense. People forget that Dallas in his h.s senior year led the state in interceptions.
