When can we expect a Guidry firing?

Shouldn’t need elite talent to get a stop vs Syracuse and GT. Teams with less talent did a better job defending them
Agree in part. Guidry’s name is on the work.

I’d argue acceptable talent and depth would have made a difference, especially against Syracuse who was a tick behind us in second in passing offenses in the nation. They ate our secondary alive as expected. A large part of that is talent I would argue.

Amount of $$$ lost due to obvious Defensive deficiencies will bring changes... it is not like the D'No era where Folden skated while protecting his buddy

The issue here is that Guidry is hampering the ability to do what is highlighted above. I have a hard time believing blue-chip talent like Stubbs and Nix flipped in the final hour exclusively due to NIL deals. We were out-schemed and out-coached on defense throughout the year, and that isn't going to attract or retain talent. Think back to the D'Onofrio years under Golden. We weren't able to consistently acquire top-tier talent largely due to a lack of desire to play for a DC that was routinely out-schemed and out-coached. I do agree that the talent level isn't there in some spots and it shouldn't all fall on Guidry's shoulders. It was evident this season that Addae's recruiting misses in the secondary hurt. But change is needed after a season like this. Time to move on.
I remember Golden recruiting pretty well on both sides of the ball. Granted the defensive players seem to have a hard time grasping the defensive scheme. And yea Golden should have cut ties with D'Onofrio. But the 2017 defense had pretty good talent and Manny was made to look pretty good. Level of players on defense has declined ever since. But I agree that current top end recruits will not want to play for Guidry.

Mario needs to stop fu king around and fire Guidry and quickly get a DC. Tell Dawson to hurry up to see wth he's gonna do.

Talent is one thing, not making any adjustments personnel-wise is another.

If you exhaust your options squad-wise, okay. Play the same guys and keep watching them ***** up? Nope, you're not getting an excuse from me.

If Guidry goes, is the whole D staff gutted? If Dawson goes to be a HC, I don’t see that side getting gutted…so, do we promote is underling QB coach etc who is supposed to be good.

I think the argument is that they were #1 in spite of his playcalling and personnel groupings.
The post was it was "objectively true" Dawson does not belong in the P4 as an OC. Now, you can say what you want about his playcalling and personnel groupings based on your opinion, but the objective fact is the unit he led was #1 statistically in the NCAA this year.

I'm not a huge Dawson fan myself. I've mentioned it bothers me he never runs outside the tackles and falls in love with WR screens at times. That being said, tough to say he wasn't right in what he did this year, especially if basing it on objective information.

Guidry is probably out because the D had what? 2 good games? but these games in college football are never won on paper. Bad teams beat good teams every weekend. We were on the bad side twice, on the road. We've come a long way. Even the greatest roster ever stacked was on the ropes to BC. It's a tale as old as CF. It's hard to go undefeated. Every team has some weakness.

That's simply an incorrect opinion.

There is no logical argument against Dawson's Creek. There is only dumb hyperreactionary fan emotion, that thinks firing every Coach every offseason is some kinda quick fix-it to solve problems on the field they don't even understand to begin with.

However, it is on par for this fanbase, the same group of people who wanted Lashlee fired & run out of town, when he clearly & objectively is a phenomenal Coach & play caller.
