We should bring back both coordinators

Not when Frank Ponce & Ken Dorsey are out there roaming the streets...

Dawson’s gotta go.

I’d love to hire Dorsey. He’s the only former player I’ve been in favor of returning; indifferent on Beard but he’s been good, but would be terrified I’d end up hating him because of the Mario effect.

Since I have no say, I don't give two ****s if Dawson comes back or we replace him. Make the ACCCG and the 12-team CFP. Our schedule is BURNING TRASH bad in 2024.

Get it done or GTFO.

Most of yall wanted Lashlee gone after season one. Just sayin.

Not thrilled about Dawson lately but I'll wait until he gets a QB who's not half-dead before I judge him.
I think Dawson sticks around at least one more season. Going to a 3rd OC in 3 years would not be a good look for Mario. I think Dawson gets one more year as much as I think he sucks.

They may have a coming to Jesus agreement/revelation in off season evaluations but if everything looks the same next season with a different QB, he needs to get stepping as Mario will be hiring a new 3rd OC to save his job if we have similar results and similar record next year.

I think most are good with Guidry, but I think Dawson should come back as long as they hit the reset button on giving him a competent QB out of the portal and don't handcuff him. I'm sure there are many who want Dawson to bounce, but I think we're going to see the same thing if you don't give the OC a competent QB and don't handcuff the guy from doing his thing. And yes, I think Dawson's change after the first 4 games is a combo of QB competence and being handcuffed.

Give both dudes control over their sides of the ball and I think the consistency will pay off next year.
Im inclined to agree. Dawson has been mixed but you can’t have your 3rd OC in year 3 and expect to get anyone good. Not to mention the 6 months it would take to even decide on the hire.

Remove handcuffs if there have been any, save the QB room in the off season by any means necessary, boost the offensive analyst team, and tell Dawson his whole career is on the line next year.

Y'all boys not tired of having new Coordinators every 1-2 yrs?

I definitely learned my lesson with Lashlee. I hated his run schemes and wanted him gone. Boy do I regret that lol.

[BGCOLOR=initial]Yeah I realized that right after I posted my response lol. I agree with him. I prefer to have an OC outside of the Miami club but right about now I'm open to pretty much anything. [/BGCOLOR]

This.

If you are being honest Dawson doesn't deserve to be fired yet, it would also be the second OC Mario destroyed in two years. Who do y'all think would be interested in this job and who do you think Mario will call? It would be a race between Coley and Arroyo. I'm keeping Dawson.

Sticking to the promise I made myself and making sure no one forgets how trash the Lashlee run game and short yardage was

He’s your reminder

This is the real question, isn’t it?

Wonder why no one can answer it…
People have answered it. It’s not reported but behind the scenes info, Mario has meddled for certain reasons (turnovers, QB play, etc).

Dawson is no Rhett Lashlee but he's miles better than Jorsh Gattis or Dan Penos so we could do a lot worse. If we can get away from trying to be a ball control team and just run an offense that actually works, we'll be alright.
I think this is it. I don’t completely buy into the notion that Mario is controlling the offense. However I do think he wants to control the ball. He preaches wearing teams down and being able to run it late in games.

The goal should be to score points. You don’t have to go 100mph every drive to do that. But you can’t just sit on the ball and never get into a rhythm either. That ends up doing the exact opposite of what you wanted. Putting your defense on the field too much and in bad spots.

Dawson sucks, but that’s why he’s here.

Cristobal isn’t going to target an OC that puts up a ton of points. That’s just not what Cristobal wants to do.

So why get rid of him? To bring in somebody like Jim Chaney to run his big man pro-style offense and the fans can talk about what a great hire because that’s the kind of OC that Kirby Smart wants?

Dawson is probably as creative as it’s getting under Mario unfortunately.
College football is now more than ever about having the ability to put up points but I'm sure Mario just never got the memo.

I read the second paragraph and just thought to myself "How ridiculous, a head coach that doesn't want to hire an OC that can put up a ton of points??? That doesn't even make sense!!!" Just imagine for a moment if you will that some 31 year old WR coach Co-OC at Eastern Michigan gets identified as a super bright up and coming OC superstar who has developed a wide open yet very unique and innovative offense that is guaranteed to put up 45 points on average against the best defenses. How many head coaches would be drooling and tripping all over themselves to hire this guy? Yes that's correct the answer is A. All of Them. There isn't a head coach alive that wouldn't do everything in his power to hire that guy. Everyone except Mario. Mario would interview the poor guy like 12 different times, do recon on the guy to the point of sifting through his trash, obtaining a stool sample and interviewing his high school friends to find out if he has ever been a Mike Leach sympathizer, then try to convince the guy to let him and his BFF Alex add their Tuff and Fizicul running game to his repertoire.

Then I remembered that it's not ridiculous at all. Can you imagine a head coach not wanting an OC who puts up a ton of points? Well ladies and gentlemen, that's who we signed to a 10 year 80 million dollar contract. I mean it isn't even being hyperbolic to say that Mario doesn't want an OC that scores a ton of points. The proof has been right in front of us the whole time! The guy has this bizarre notion that too much scoring is bad because it sends the defense back out too many times or something completely irrational like that. He therefore thinks that if he slows it down and slowly marches down the field on 16 play 10 minute drives where 14 of those plays are runs right up the middle into a loaded box that he is going to win lots of games 17-13, 21-17 or 20-14. The more I think about what a collosal meathead Mario is the more ****ed off I get because all of this is just so damned unnecessary.

You need multiple pieces on offense to be able to compete next year and if you fire Dawson the recruiting will suffer. I don't know how you go after another OC and convince the guys you need to come, knowing how slow Mario is with new hires. You have to ride with Dawson and hope he grows.

I think, even with Dawson's deficiencies, if you can go out and get a mobile QB that's efficient and two great WR this team can win 10 games next year, even running the same **** offense.

As for Guidry, do whatever you need to do to retain him and try and convince a couple guys to come back. And then go et some DT's in the portal.

If Dawson is staying, Mario better get a mobile qb cause Dawson ain’t much without one. Just watch Houston tape.

If Dawson does return does he ever incorporate the TE's into the passing scheme? Dude mentioned how excited he was that Orroyo was coming back but don't think much was schemed up for any TE's much of the season.
