Mateer is this year’s Cam. There’s no one else on or near his level. You throw the house at him and sell him on OL play, NIL, and Cams production.
Arnold and Mensah both have comparable arm talent, but I think you go Arnold due to his P4 experience and scrambling ability.
mateer/weigman/moss/raiola I’m confident we can win with. Arnold and Mensah are a tier below them imo just bc there’s so many unknowns with them.
Syracuse
As a former Hoya, we hate Syracuse. Now I have double dislike for themSyracuse has definitely become a team I very much dislike.
Very underrated referenceDarian Mensah Bonsu
Hasn't that become the new standard going rate for any tier 1 QB transfer at this point?Mensah is asking 7 figures. Not saying Miami wouldn't pay him that, just throwing that out there.
A game manager who reliably takes what's there but has the ability to make the big play when needed is fine with me. As long as he's accurate and avoids turnovers, with quality skill players around him our offense would still thrive. Look at the playoff teams and there really aren't a whole lot of superhero type QBsI'm saying I'm not sure I'd pay him, specifically, that much. He's good, but he was a game manager this year.
7 figures aint what it used to be in QB game.Mensah is asking 7 figures. Not saying Miami wouldn't pay him that, just throwing that out there.
Why are you even here?Bet you 200 they embarrass Mario next year
They are going to become a problem. If that HC can land anywhere where there is $ then look out.Syracuse has definitely become a team I very much dislike.
I thought East Carolina filled the position from withinI’m just curious where is he going? East Carolina? Charlotte?

How is Raiola any different? He is another with tons of talent but his youth showed a lot.He definitely has arm talent but is far from a sure thing. Watched a few condensed games and his youth shows at times especially when pressured. I don’t know if he’s the guy you wanna plug and play to beat UF and ND to start the year.
It would be a good pick up but anyone who would take him over Mateer/Weigman/Arnold/Raiola is clinically insane. It’s harder to project him since he comes from a G5 and doesn’t have tape against above average P4 comp. There’s more to it than a couple splash play highlights, how does he handle a 3rd and 10 blitz against UF, ND?

He's out of eligibilityWhen does McCord leave? Next year or is he entering the draft this year?
**** Syracuse. Gotta be kidding me that we would lose out to them on this kid.
Mario and staff need to move quickly on a guy.
Holy ****. I don’t know why I thought he was a RS junior this year. He's out of eligibility
Agreed Raiolas ceiling is way up there. But you mentioned plug and play readiness and youthfulness, both of which are questionable for Raiola as well. He could just as easily go in and be the reason we lose to ND to start the season due to his periodic recklessness as he would be the reason we win. I'd be happy with either of the two, but neither would be an early season, calm and steady influenceMensah’s ceiling in terms of measurables is nowhere near Raoila’s. Raoila played tough comp with a weak supporting cast in some big game environments. At least you’d know Raoila would be serviceable in those types of games while mensah could end up being closer to a poff type where the game is just too fast for him. And yes, mensah has much more arm talent than poff did, but you just never know how a g5 qb is going to handle big time cfb.
And optics wise, we’d be a much more desirable spot for other portal kids and even hs recruits, similar to how Florida is leveraging lagway.
