Tulane QB Darian Mensah enters the Portal

He's already the hot QB name in the portal. Outside of Mateer not going to OK, or Nussmeier or Raiola entering the portal, there aren't too many QBs who would be more coveted. If someone needs a QB they will likely have no choice but to pay 7 figures for a Mensah or Arnold level prospect given the hugh demand and limited supply.

I'm saying I don't think Miami should. I don't think he's the QB to lead Miami.

Those aren't the only two options, right?
Nope. Those were just the two in the portal when I asked the question, as I’m assuming Mateer goes to Oklahoma with Arbuckle. I took it that people prefer Mensah over Arnold so when another good qb enters, I’ll be looking at that qb vs mensah

When it comes to quarterbacks, you could just tell the difference when it comes to leadership. You can have all the intelligible qualities, but if you can’t hold your team together, you’re not gonna do anything.
I don’t know about that Nebraska dude. I know he seems to be very talented, but I could never trust anybody in that position who doesn’t have it upstairs. I don’t trust anybody in that position that the entire team won’t rally around.

Just look at our defense. There was no number one that everyone rallied around. No one was working together or paying attention to each other. The defense played like they didn’t like each other..

We already heard how some on the team were upset when tvd seemed to only throw to X.

Give me a cerebral leader with accuracy that can rally the team. Don’t need a head case on the team that’s gonna cause a problem in the locker room just because he could throw a 60 yard dot on a rope.

Mensah to me looks like the dude. But I don’t. have the eye for talent that some do.
I also don’t know if Raiola is a head case or not.

But I just don’t see it with Mateer the way others do.

He cosplays as Patrick Mahomes. Of course he’s a head case.

After watching some condensed games of Tulane this year, my honest opinion is that we are in trouble if he’s our starting QB next year.

He is very raw, footwork needs a lot of work, and he’s not great against pressure. That’s not uncommon for a freshman, but the speed of the game at this level will be a whole new learning curve. His arm talent on intermediate throws is average in terms of P4 QBs. It’s easy to look at highlights of a couple nice deep balls from throughout the season and crown him, but digging deeper he’s developmental and not sure he’s the guy to hang the hat on for next year.

G5 QBs make me nervous. Thinking back to last year and watching Grayson McCall who set records and then looked outmatched at NC state albiet a small sample size. Yes, you can point to someone like Ward but that dude is one in a thousand.

Agree,100% (and that's from me watching 100% of his snaps from this season).

I watched K state, Oklahoma, army, and usf just to get a feel for how he would project. Obviously you have to keep in mind the talent difference surrounding him, but I was not impressed with some of the decision making. Arm looks great at times and other times looks like the ball just isn’t coming out of his hand clean.
