If he does switch to safety, his ceiling is as high any safety we've brought in. He is that kind of football player.
The Jeff Godfrey comparison doesn't work for me because Godfrey was a shrimp. Flowers is only six-foot but thickly built and very physical. He'd be a 6'0, 215 pound-safety with top-notch football instincts and athleticism. This isn't an AJ Highsmith situation, Flowers has played there before and performed at a high level.

I'd have taken Godfrey, too, FWIW. Came in and contributed as a true freshman as a QB ... then switched to WR and contributed there with 400+ yards and 3 TDs.
 
I don't see him as a QB either. I'd like to see what he could do in the slot though... Impressive highlights with the ball in his hands. As a passer, not so much.
 
He might be a high school legend but I don't see any reason Miami should offer him a scholarship. He is not a better QB then the guys Miami is looking at. He would not be a better WR then the 8 top WR's in Sofla. He would not be a better DB than a kid like Quincy Wilson.

Dmoney, I hear you but would you bring him in at safety say over a QW? I just see this as a wasted ship on a kid who has ability but no position. I like the kids guts and he is a football player but I just don't want to bring in too many guys who have no real position. I just don't want another Jason Geathers situation on our hands. I think he was the most wasted athlete we've had here in the past 10 years. (Yes, more then Hester) We just didn't know what the **** to do with him.

And what do we do about Treaon Harris? If we tell both these cats they will get a fair shot at QB that is ludicris. Do we not offer Treon? Or do we tell Treon that he will get a shot at QB but Winky cant? Or Vice Versa?

Pete, I think after Winky blows up this year he gets that offer but that just flat out scares me because I would not take him at safety especially if we are slow playing QW. JMO.

The staff isn't necessarily "slow playing" Wilson because at this point, I would be shocked if he got an offer.

Treon v. Flowers is good for discussion, but shouldn't even be a comparison. Treon puts up butter numbers mostly because of the talent surrounding him. If you gave Flowers that supporting cast/coaching, it would be game over. Jacory's records would be broken.

As far as Flowers "blowing up," he's already done that. He really doesn't have much more to prove at the high school level.

as a QB i still wouldn't take Denard. My best friend is a michigan fan and i've seen a lot of Robinson, michigan became a lot better and more balanced when he got hurt. i'd take him as a ATH maybe WR or CB

Only losses were to Notre Dame and Bama...Michigan was down 7-6 to Nebraska when Denard went down...didn't score again in the game. Also lost to Ohio State and South Carolina. Went 12-2 in 2011...losses both on the road.

Denard ended his career as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the history of college football.

have u seen Denard throw? his TD/INT ratio? completion %? most prolific QB's? thats laughable. sure he runs the ball well, thats about it. i wouldnt even consider him a dual threat, more like a shot gun RB. he made a living throwing the ball up for grabs n having Hemmingway make circus catch after circus catch. when he played good defenses he was shut down. even the the sugar bowl VA Tech shut him down and they aren't really considered a blazing fast defense. pat white threw the ball better than denard. you want him to be your QB? Silly

And it's not a physical attribute, but his ability to throw on the run is incredible

He def can wing it I was more asking as overall athlete because I don't see him playing QB at a school like Miami especially when the staff has already gotten a commitment from Edouard. Some people are saying take him as a athlete and I don't see a position for him at Miami.
 
I like his film...reminds me a little of David Gerrard in his East Carolina days. I wonder if he does overlap a little with Edouard....but, reality is the same argument could have been made with Crow and Dewey.

The kid is just special. You bring him and he's so good I believe it will just work it's way out. But in all fairness, he will be better suited for a team who runs the spread option and requires a QB that can throw on the run.
