The Official ****y Flowers Junior Highlights!!

Looks better than Alin

The kid is just special. You bring him and he's so good I believe it will just work it's way out. But in all fairness, he will be better suited for a team who runs the spread option and requires a QB that can throw on the run.

I agree and I think many here are saying that. There are some that think he can flourish at UM as a QB. I think he cannot and would be better served at a WVU/Louisville/USF type where he CAN flourish. He is a playmaker with the ball in his hands but folks said the same things about Boldin and Warrick (esp boldin) when they were coming out - dynamic playmakers who were QBs. I firmly believe Winky can have a similar result in college at WR.

It's about winning and losing. You want kids on your team who wins. College is not the NFL. You don't recruit kids to fill needs, more importantly you get athletes and playmakers. UM finally got a playmaker in Duke Johnson....they need to continue to get play makers. Just kids who makes things happen on the football field.

The way I see it, is that staff wants to take two QBs this cylce, one mobile/athletic guy and one pocket passer. If you look at Edouard and Winky I think that clearly Edouards potential is higher. We all agree he can pretty much be a RG3 type of player. Winky, to me looks like a guy who at his best is Denard Robinson. You take RG3 every day of the week over Denard Robinson. All of that being said, I'd still offer Winky and give him a shot at QB but be straight up with him that a position change may be in the future. IMO, the sooner he realizes he's the next Anquan BOldin or a safety the better off he'll be.

Wut?

Well, thank goodness somebody got his first name right: ****y, not Winky.

Even if he's not a pure QB for the U.

It's downright disrespectful to call a guy by the wrong name, like you don't care. Just don't call him ****er.

I think it's tough for a lot of you guys who don't have the chance to watch him play live to realize how special he is. I hate to use cliches, but Flowers has that "it" factor

So did Jacory.

Wish I could find that gif of Jacory throwing up the U during the Northwestern/South Lake Carroll game...people was throwing around the same terms after that.

At first I thought you were going to say he was throwng up balloons.

Obviously I haven't seen Winky play, but everyone keeps comparing him to D. Robinson. I'm assuming it's because of his athletism and size. My question is this; could Winky be more Russel Wilson than D Rob. Let's be honest, d rob was an athlete playing QB. If he completed a pass, it was considered a bonus. Wilson, however, is just a vertically challenged QB with the mindset of a QB with really good athletism. Am I off base here?

I offer him yesterday and tell him he can play Power Forward or work at the concession stand selling ice cream if thats what it takes to get him on campus. When he gets here, he will either beat out Olsen/Eduoard or he will move somewhere else. In any event hes a football player and needs to be in this class. I've seen him live and Pete hit it right on the head. He just makes plays. Minimal protection, mediocre receivers, he just gets things done.

Most people here would not have recruited Denard Robinson either.

So, I don't act surprised.

as a QB i still wouldn't take Denard. My best friend is a michigan fan and i've seen a lot of Robinson, Michigan became a lot better and more balanced when he got hurt. i'd take him as a ATH maybe WR or CB

Only losses were to Notre Dame and Bama...Michigan was down 7-6 to Nebraska when Denard went down...didn't score again in the game. Also lost to Ohio State and South Carolina. Went 12-2 in 2011...losses both on the road.

Denard ended his career as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the history of college football.

You wouldn't take him as a QB? Silly.

have u seen Denard throw? his TD/INT ratio? completion %? most prolific QB's? thats laughable. sure he runs the ball well, thats about it. i wouldnt even consider him a dual threat, more like a shot gun RB. he made a living throwing the ball up for grabs n having Hemmingway make circus catch after circus catch. when he played good defenses he was shut down. even the the sugar bowl VA Tech shut him down and they aren't really considered a blazing fast defense. pat white threw the ball better than denard. you want him to be your QB? Silly

Its college football...the passing game isnt as important as it is in the pro game. You put your playmakers in a position to make plays. During his collegiate career hes better than every QB we had. Even if you want a pro style QB ... hes better than Whipple Cook Smith Etc and you can actually use him...nevermind the fact that his first year in Hoke's era at Michigan he went 11-2 with comp% snd QBR similar to Stephen Morris. Id take collegiate Pat White as my QB too FWIW. One of the best collegiate QBs to lace'em up.
