You're not the one in charge of potentially hiring someone who has a shady employment record, left a previous employer in the lurch, and gave his mistress a job in the athletic department while at Arky. Most potential employers take ethics pretty seriously...you obviously give zero *****.

The malfeasance at Arkansas is the only thing that's even worth discussing.

Going from Louisville to Jacksonville to Auburn means nothing.

I don't see how Atlanta is relevant, either. Coaches leave jobs. They wag their finger and swear they're staying. Then they leave.

Our current coach is doing it right now.

I don't see how you can ask for any better in the college ranks. Lots of college coaches have failed miserably in the NFL but the fact that guys like Butch and Petrino made it to the NFL says enough IMO. Plus that was some time ago.....who says these guys can't learn from their mistakes? You think the NFL is beating down Goldens door?

I don't see how you can ask for any better in the college ranks. Lots of college coaches have failed miserably in the NFL but the fact that guys like Butch and Petrino made it to the NFL says enough IMO. Plus that was some time ago.....who says these guys can't learn from their mistakes? You think the NFL is beating down Goldens door?

No-one is beating down the door for either Butch or Petrino, but I get your point. But as long as we can get someone like Chud, who is a realistic hire and an offensive wizard, we'll be okay.

Coaches don't quit in middle of the season ,sneak out back door during the night and just leave notes. That's a flat out coward. Couldn't even wait till seasons end , just quit because his qb was hurt and team sucked . Definition of a quitter . Couldn't handle the failure , no character.

Nothing wrong with taking another job or quitting at years end.

Petrino's entire job history is radioactive. Dude is a consummate job hopper, and has continually exhibited poor judgement and no ability to work ethically.

That's a lot for any potential employer to overlook.

yeah I just meant when they were first hired. I don't like to get into hindsight 20/20 debates because it's easy to bash these guys now at this point. Actually Butch did a solid job in Cleveland as well. He was respected and took over a dog**** organization. Butch obviously knows his **** regardless of anything else. They are both significant upgrades is my point I suppose.

Still have to consider we don't have unlimited options.
