Significant changes in attitude and

Oh, boy, we have one clown chatting about "bulk of scholarships" to be lost (apparently never got the memo related to skating) and another about lack of depth at safety.

I think a successful season will be 9 - 10 wins. Personally, I see 7-8 wins with this group. We still have a ways to go for elite talent on the roster, and if we can keep the 2016 kids committed when that signing day comes, talent will drastically improve.

7 wins is a disaster. Golden would not survive. He may live to coach next year, but that would be it. We have plenty of elite talent on this roster, we just don't have enough elite talent with enough experience.

A 7 win season will get Al canned. Especially considering that our arch rival is poised to pick up their 4th NC.

lol @ this comment. Al is here for 6 years minimum. He will not be leaving any time soon regardless of the record this year. He will not do worse than 7 wins so forget about him leaving.

That is not necessarily true. A guy who hasn't won squat will not be afforded the two extra years that a guy like Coker, who won and then lost in the national championships, was afforded. Also, you just hedged your statement by saying that he would never get fired by saying that 7 wins is fireable and he wont win so few games. So which is it?

Been a fan since 1987 and I bleed orange and green. Reading these blogs amuse and make me shake my head sometimes. I honestly think some of my Hurricane fellow fans are irrational or just don't know the game. I read a post yesterday where they were questioning a defensive tip and batted ball drill. It's sad that some of you guys are couch fans and know nothing about the game. I played it. Coach it and is currently trying my hand at scouting. **** some of y'all don't know **** man!!!!
My all criticize Golden boy like crazy. He's rebuilding the program brick by brick and all y'all do is pop shot. Don't get it twisted cuz I've witnessed all 5 titles. I expect greatness but **** y'all have bad memories. The man inherited a program with kids with bad habits, attitudes and ethics. NCAA probation and we still gotta here this pessimism. We are going to win a title on 2016. I predicted the one in 2001 on schedule. I'm calling this one. It takes time you boneheads!!!
Let the man do his job and support the team or get. New squad. 7 wins y'all sound silly

You predicted a national championship for a team that was coming off an 11-1 record, a Sugar Bowl victory over Florida, a victory over defending champion Florida State, and a robbery from a national championship game appearance? ****, Nostradamus! How did you look into your crystal ball to pull that ingenious decision? I can see why you're condescending and conceited post littered with a lack of intelligence was so self-serving. But what do we know? You played and are trying to scout now!

I'm a little curious how you witnessed all 5 titles when you've only been a fan since 1987? If I recall correctly, we won a title in 1983. Did you get a DVD special to bone up on the history you, "witnessed." Since you played, you might have taken a shot or two to the head too many. But then again, you are the guy who witnessed things presently, in the past. Maybe you're privy to some super powers us couch coach/mortals don't have.

We'll see how the season progresses. Don't pretend Golden hasn't done anything to be impervious to criticism and that 7 wins wont get him fired. It makes you just as bad as the people that pretend he's done nothing right and that we'll win 1 game.

Some of us expected it to take 5 years to get back to having a shot at an ACC title. Some of us were appalled at the organizational cluster fark Coker and Shannon left The next guys. Some of us knew our fans think this program runs on autopilot and would **** and moan all during the rebuilding phase even through the Shapiro mess.

Some of us dont worry cause we see the light at the end of the long tunnel. Its only year 4. No worries.

That's one way to view it. Another way to view it is that the group you are referring to have decided to ignore stats and performances so you can sleep soundly at night just hoping we're on the cusp of returning to greatness and you've decided Golden is above reproach. Same differences I suppose.

You think that's the same?
How is that the same?

Not an unreasonable question. It's not like I am asking how long it will take Golden to build a program capable of finishing a distant 2nd in the Coastal. I realize that takes well over five years. Ask Urban Maya.

How many years until Golden can get our program ahead of Duke or UNC?

I was being deliberately obtuse and sarcastic.

I can see how. That's not what I was going for.

Shapiro bought him 2 extra years over Shannon. I know its the fashion on this site to completely and utterly dismiss the Yahoo story and the preceeding debacle as having any negative effect on this program, but it bought Golden time....regardless of his record.

So true. His *** would be firmly on the hot seat if not for that. And no one would care what Shannon left. Just like no one care what Coker left Shannon and he was gone after 4 seasons. Even tho he beat FSU twice. Something u can't even imagine after 4 tries with Golden

So regardless of football merits and coaching success the administration is giving Golden 2 full extra years due to Shapiro gate? That would pretty much dismiss the theory that the administration is devoted to and cares about winning wouldn't it?

Just so you know, you are flat out wrong. He is on the hot seat now. All the positive capital he built up with the administration was cancelled out by how he made the school and Shalala look with Penn State. If not for that, you'd probably be right.

I'm also sorry to see what a weak, spineless attitude you've approved of for the school that theoretically if Golden were to go winless he wouldn't get fired. Shapiro-gate does not and did not equal the type of good will that a national championship win and loss earned.
