Oh, boy, we have one clown chatting about "bulk of scholarships" to be lost (apparently never got the memo related to skating) and another about lack of depth at safety.

I think a successful season will be 9 - 10 wins. Personally, I see 7-8 wins with this group. We still have a ways to go for elite talent on the roster, and if we can keep the 2016 kids committed when that signing day comes, talent will drastically improve.

typical name caller but don't read to much into Sir

We are basically done. We'll be taking only 1 in 2016 and we will likely have full classes in all years. Frankly when the hit is on the total and not the class, 9 is absurdly easy to manage.

7 wins is a disaster. Golden would not survive. He may live to coach next year, but that would be it. We have plenty of elite talent on this roster, we just don't have enough elite talent with enough experience.

A 7 win season will get Al canned. Especially considering that our arch rival is poised to pick up their 4th NC.

Agree on the 7 wins being a disaster, just what I am envisioning is 7-8 wins based on what we have right now. Certainly hold I am wrong. . 2016 class is going to be key, and a lot of that will depend on what we do in the field this year. I

Better team than last year with a harder schedule unfortunately. This is an 8-4 team unless we stay basically injury free and get stellar quarterback play. Then we could win 10. 2016 has a chance to be special if kaaya is what we think he is

physical appearance by the players. Looked at Denzel last year vs this year huge gains. Basically all returning players have noticeable physical changes. Can this translate into game day? My concern will be overall team speed from side line to side line on defense and vertical on offense

Overall very impressed that we are now "boys to men" and not thin like we were a few years back. I am not the computer savvy poster like most are but it would be interesting to get a before and after on our athletes to see the bulk they have increased to. Can someone walk me through making something like this?

Thank you
We have been getting "bigger" every off season for 10 years now.

I agree but according to Pete's last work his sources are saying the team is very fast and the most talented team we have had since 04'.
Just like going into 2010, when we had the most talented team we have had since '04.

The feeling is fewer and fewer Shannon players on the roster......

And when Shannon was here, the feeling was fewer Coker Clubhouse players on the roster.....

why stop here?

Remember that time "we" wanted Butch Davis fired after 3 seasons, when he had an identical record.

Remember when people had a plane flown over the stadium.

Remember when he actually left, yet those same ones who cried then wanted him back now?

I agree. This team is different than the past that still had the Shannon stench which is all but gone now.
New day in Canes football begins labor day. You either in or gtfo.

do you remember how long it took the coaches to get our best db and experienced two years ago to buy into the program (guy about to start for the Rams). That's not even talking about the guys that took at least two years to buy in. The guys on the team now, they've bought in since the on set. They heard Zo highsmith, the league know Al puts hard workers in the league.

Hear the same story every year but I gotta admit, this one feels a little bit different. Not a drastic overhaul, but also not just chest thumping trying to make ourselves feel better.

I hear ya, but the look is not the same, the leadership is not the same. When was the last time we had this many playmakers together on a team. We have guys with serious experience. No serious staff turnover. I'm excited big time. Stay healthy and college football will be surprised and on notice.

I'm excited as ****. I'm ready to start decleating people walking down the sidewalk. I'm cautiously optimistic about the defense. There's speed and strength we haven't seen in some time. The concern for me though is the QB and OL positions. Our OL has been underwhelming and it was on paper much more talented in the past than this year. Obviously Morris and Jacory had issues but I think most everyone would agree that the QB spot is a major concern, though there is a glimmer of hope in Kaaya and Williams speedy recovery.

its the same hype every season but for my eyes and brain (if that means jack ****) I see more there this year. How much? No ****ing clue.

It seems it's the same every year. The difference is we see it with the players. We don't have players thinking they are bigger than the program that we "need" in a big way, like the past couple of years. The Dt's, henderson, and that lb from Cali all consistently being in the doghouse, because they did not want to do what was going to make them money in the future. Our studs know that this staff is trying to get them paid!!! Duke, DP and the others putting on the weight that will only help them.

I hear your concerns, I think we will be okay. Think about this, Heaps may amount to nothing, but at least we are not putting a Olineman in qb because we didn't at least try to fix the problem correctly like the last two staffs would have. Our staff now is consistently planning, like the move with the kid from jersey. We may not need him or Tucker, but what happens if we do need more, better to prepare now than week 4 and only a week to prepare. Can always go back like Crawford.

The oline got rid of the shannon guys. The guys we have now are taking pride in getting stronger and winning battles, it's the attitude of the team. Think about the Cali qb attitude!!!

I think 2016 will be a beautiful team to watch but we will be losing lots of players and the bulk of scholarships. So we will be in a rebuilding stage once again until we are done with losing scholarships. However I want to see what this years team can do.

What bulk of scholarships are you talking about?

the 9 that we have to give up
The 9 is based on yearly totals. This will have almost zero effect on our roster. We never have 85 anyway.

lol @ this comment. Al is here for 6 years minimum. He will not be leaving any time soon regardless of the record this year. He will not do worse than 7 wins so forget about him leaving.

This is the reason I'm hyped for this team and the future. The culture has changed and it's night and day from the Shannon days. It seems like these boys really want to put in the work, do the things necessary to win games. It just feels different for me.

Unfortunately I've bought in to this before from Golden and co.

I'll wait until I see the team on the field before deciding whether the attitude has changed.

We hear how this is the year. The players are bigger, faster, stronger, look like men now, they're getting it, etc.

I'm sure some superman has pictures of the players from whatever until now. Post them up for comparison. Talk is cheap, so let's see all the changes people are supposedly seeing.

Dumbest **** ever that fans make up, culture. It doesn't feel different, you're just hoping it is. Change the names to Shannon and Coker, same things were posted under Shannon.
