Proof of Randomness in College Baseball

In other words....

This year three teams (Florida, LSU and TCU) won 75% (12 of 16) of the games in Omaha.

So the cornerstone of Jagr's argument is complete bunk. It means absolutely nothing.

That's true every year. Don't be stupid. When the same programs are winning over multiple years, it's not because of lady luck. It's because those are the best programs. And that list doesn't include Miami.

"Chalk: The favorite in the game."

Again, multiple posts to fight for no reason.

I'm the one who used the word so I'm the one who knows what I meant.

You said that Florida State and Texas A&M getting to Omaha was an expected outcome.

You were wrong.

No one said it wasn't. Quit making stuff up that no one said.

You certainly did insinuate that with your Virginia praise for saving the ACC.

So basically the entire regular season doesn't prove how good you are and neither does almost the entire postseason. Just a three game series in June.

I don't have to make things up to nail your point.

Oh, so now you can assume what someone meant based on insinuation, but if someone doesn't use your exact wording (chalk/favorite) then that person is a liar.

When there are ~300 teams in the sport and 10 teams win two-thirds of the games on the biggest stage, the sport isn't "random".

This is another dishonest post by Jagr.

Now you're inserting the entire season and/or tournament in place of the CWS. The debate has always been about the CWS being random. I understand that you have to change the subject because you're losing but this is pathetic.

I've always maintained that the regular season is far less random than the CWS.

You're flailing.

The best programs get there and the best programs win the majority of the games.

I agree with the first statement (I've been arguing that better than you) and totally disagree with the second.

Not only do I disagree but the facts disagree with you too.

Over a 10 year period it was possible for 80 different teams to get to Omaha. In those crazy random post-seasons, 10 teams win 2/3 of the games.

You're either a sociopath or you're purposely acting like you don't get it.

Perfect. Add up the last ten years of CWS games and tell me who wins the majority of the games. I've already done that, but thanks in advance.

The entire point, which you are inching closer toward acknowledging, is that Miami is no longer one of those teams.

You've had to remove the egg from your face because every standard that you introduce has Miami still among the elite.

First it was CWS appearances since 2002.

Then it was last 15 years.

What's next?

Everyone has acknowledged that Jim Morris was the king in the first half of his career. You're almost ready to admit that 2-for-9 makes him about a top 16 coach at this point.

That's true every year.

Exactly my point.

So it's a statistical certainty that 3 teams will win a vast majority of the games in Omaha.

The rub is that nobody can tell you who those three teams are. It's as likely to include Coastal Carolina as it is to include, say, Oregon State.

Except that (for the 345th time) we're talking about the decade as a whole. LSU winning a ton of games in Omaha isn't a fluke. Miami NOT winning many games in Omaha also isn't a fluke.

Yes, when the insinuation being made is accurate (like mine clearly was).

Yours on the other hand are fabrications (as have been proven).

You were being sarcastic. You said they were predictable participants.

Everybody knows what you meant.

Now you're evading and dodging.
