Proof of Randomness in College Baseball

I also asked for an honest ranking of Morris, O'Sullivan and Martin currently. Unless I missed it where is your response to that, or are you afraid of the truth?

You also asked if Jim Morris would be a top candidate for a job given his track record over the last decade. I then showed you that he's a top 9 or 10 coach in that period.

You may have just glossed over that.

You ask a lot of silly questions.

Yet you and the other Morris supporter have refused to answer the question. Rank the big 3 coaches in the state. I'm sure the truth hurts to admit, but you know he ranks number three, and if he stayed much longer there is a chance a young coach like Lovelady might catch him.

I also asked if you had a concern about UM naming a coach in waiting that has no head coaching experience, but again you fail to acknowledge. To me nepotism is an issue. At a minimum the position should be open to a notional search for the best candidate for the position. Can we agree on this, or do you feel gifting the position to a coach with no experience at this level is appropriate?

The long and short of it all is Morris will be the coach next season. I wish he would have stepped down and let someone else start fresh and begin a new tradition. Since that will not happen next season I wish Morris and the team the best, and will hope for a miracle of a CWS championship to end his career.

UF's coach has undoubtedly performed better than Morris since 2008. No argument there.

Morris has been to the CWS twice to Martin's 3x...... Since 2008, it appears that Martin is slightly outperforming Morris, albeit while benefiting from sizable advantages.

Both UF and FSU benefit from being able to recruit 4-5 more blue-chip players a year. (Am not doing the math again.........) If you include BrightLights (sic), then their advantage is even more marked.

My point is that we have a top 10 coach.

I do not like DiMare as a person, BUT he played and coached under Bertman and Fraser. He coached under Morris. If he stays motivated, he will be a great coach. [We saw DiMAre around when we were growing up.] If he "Turtles it up", we could have a problem. Also, he will be highly motivated initially, but will someone so wealthy remain highly motivated..... He also needs to retain Arteaga, but the chance of that is small.

While I disagree with some of your points I appreciate your response and honest opinion. Especially the lack of tough guy bravado and childish name calling.

I was the first one to say it when you first popped up, and I'm also the one that got you to say it....

No you weren't. Jagr knew from the first post.

You're just bringing it up now and yet you're claiming to be first?

Is there an honest fiber in your entire body? You lie so frequently and change the subject so often that it's breathtaking.

I don't find your question to be interesting or elucidating.

Kevin O'Sullivan is one of the top coaches right now. Mike Martin has the second most wins all-time. I think Morris and Martin are tied for 2nd in that three horse race.

Who cares? What question does this answer?

Yes. A coach who has advanced out of exactly zero Regionals and just went 0-2 this year will catch Jim Morris right away.

:biggrin-new:

I would've hired someone with head coaching experience.

But I also don't ASSume that Gino sucks and that we're screwed going forward. You have no evidence for that position.

I already agreed but then you had to say something stupid that Gino DiMare has no experience at this level.

Amazing.

Is there one in you since that's why you got banned from this board? Don't throw shade you low life, you're a loser who's never won at anything and you'll always be one because pricks like you don't even know how to win. I've been proven right over and over again on every board I post on and I make a mistake one time and you ramble about me "lying" because that's the only way you can win an argument or at least win it in your mind. You literally say the same thing over and over again in different wordings and think you have superior intelligence when it's really a big old stick that you shoved up your own ***

Pull it out Brian, it's the only way you'll learn how to be humble.

See you around, I'm sure you'll be back. I got winners to go and talk to.

You made a mistake?

:biggrin-new:

You "made a mistake" then lied about it. Then you proceeded to change the subject for two days because you weren't man enough to admit it.

People are literally laughing at you in front of their computer screens right now. Not one person, even a fellow whiner, is willing to defend you for even a second. That's how "right" you've been on this board.

You're the classic case of low self-esteem. You need to constantly tell yourself how special and right you are because your psyche is so fragile.

You lie over and over again so I'm left to correct you and call you out for it.

I know I have superior intelligence to you. That's not even a concern for me at this point. You prove it every time you post.

Got to hand it to you, the entertainment value is outstanding. We both know the nepotism is a real concern, and we both know it is daddy on the BOT with the big bucks not Morris. We also know DiMare has no experience head coaching at any level, but since I did not specify head coaching you got your little snipit. Funny dude you are.

I'll agree we have no idea if DiMare will be a good head man or not, but I think it is worth checking out the prospects first.

Oh, and you don't think Lovelady is on a fast track of success? So far he has had pretty good success. Imagine the wins he might be able to rack up at a blue blood program.

I will now wait for the humor of your snippets

No one knows if DiMare will succeed or not. His main drawback is that he has never been a Head Coach. His main advantage is that he learned from 3 of the greatest managers that the game has ever know - Bertman, Morris and Fraser.

I do not object to hiring him, but am worried that they will delay in dismissing him if he fails. Frankly, there is no one on earth that knows Dade, Broward and Palm Beach better than DiMare. He was a top recruit, top player and top coach. He can be caustic, though, and am not sure how that will translate to today's players. He also is highly entitled, which could lead to a host of problems.

The vitriol from my end of the spectrum stems from the fact that Morris led us to two CWS over the past three years. These guys cannot refute that he still wins at a 'top-10 clip' but continue to spout venom about the man.
