WR: Hurns, Dorsett, Scott, Waters

DE: Green will start and Ricardo Williams could see time there

DT: Robinson, Pierre

SAM: Bond, Figs/McCord(passing downs)

MIKE: Gaines with Kirby getting more and more burn as the season wears on

CB: Gunter, Crawford, Howard at Nickel

I agree with this minus Ricardo Williams, he will never play here.

He played in the UNC game.

I really think the solution to the OL 'problem' we have is fixed once we move Linder to C... An OL of Flowers-Bunche-Linder-Feliciano-Henderson is unfair!

I totally agree with this!!!

Still feel McDermott was penciled in by default!! You can get away with a Center that's only "Serviceable", but if you really want a run game on another level, it starts at Center.

Tyler Horn should have never started at Center, it should have been Harland Gunn - which, by the way, is the position he (HG) was asked to play in the NFL!

It seems like we're making the same mistake in leaving a JAG at Center, instead of upgrading that position with a guy like Linder; to improve the entire unit as a whole.

Just not a fan of McDermott, he snaps the ball and sits put and extends his arms. He isn't driving anyone off the ball at all!

I think we all want Green out of there. The question is do you want him out of there on Sept 7th? I dont want an unproven, unseasoned guy going up against Tyler Moore and DJ Humphries for 4 qtrs just because Green cant rush the passer. He is solid at stopping the run and can hold the point of attack. He wont be intimidated or get bytched. Which is what we will need on that day. Didnt he lead us in tackles last year? He can be servicable until AQM, Hoilett, and Hamilton are ready.

So a RS soph that starts all 12 games and was named All-ACC honorable mention by coaches is a JAG? Makes sense.

I really don't get all the criticism of McDermott. I thought he played well last year as a first year starter and should continue to develop more this year. I'm not averse to giving competition, but I don't believe we have even given Linder a snap at C since he's been here.

TE is going to be a battle as well. I think Cleveland is going to bounce back and Walford/Sandland should provide some big plays.

This. And dear god not this Linder-Center **** AGAIN

Agree, I hope Cleveland makes a comeback, but feel like Warlord and Sandlad should be the 2 guys in 2 TE sets.

I agree, Bigsonnyu. Never understood why Har Gunn was moved to Guard from center. Wasnt he a US Army All American at the CENTER spot? Now he is on the Atlanta Falcons roster as a Center. Go figure. Smh.

I dont think the staff wants to mess with the chemistry at the Oline position. Which is why i really think Linder isnt being moved to Center. I actually think Linder will make his money playing Center in the NFL. McDermm is good enough. Now the question is will he be able to hold up his end of the bargain when Dominique Easley and Leon Orr are in his chest every play. We will see..

Why do people feel Linder is better at C? Just curious as he's thrown out there so much, he hasn't played there since HS.

Lulz at Gunn being moved from C to OG. Gunn played OT and DT for Omaha Central HS. He also played LG and RG for the Canes.

To answer your question Canesfan1899, I just dont know if Linder is big enough to be a OG at the NFL level. Isnt Chris Meyers a center now for the Texans? They remind me of each other. Man some of those OG I saw coming out the draft looked THICK as ****! (No homo.) Linder looks lean for 300lbs. I could be wrong. I think we can all agree that he will be in the NFL for 10+ years either at G or C barring any injuries.

**** I think all of our starting olineman will earn a decent living in the league. Including Bunche.

Why does everyone assume that Bunche would play over Feliciano at G? Feliciano is on par with if not better than Linder. I know Linder won't be replaced, because he is good, a team leader and a senior. But people keep selling Feliciano short. Bunche will prob get time at all four spots along the line in most if not every game and be a **** of an insurance policy should injury strike.

To further the discussion, I believe O Franklin came back to talk with the OL this spring. He said that most if not all the OL in the NFL know
how to snap. It is a desirable skill at the next level and something that all of our interior lineman should be practicing.

Here is the quote:
-Orlando Franklin came back and spoke to the oline..told them that in the nfl almost every OL knows how to snap, so more and more guys on our ol have been working on snapping ..just in case...

Linder to Center is just pure speculation by the fans. When the Center job was first up for grabs Golden stated clearly that McDermott was ahead of everyone for the job. What that exactly means or who he was battling is speculation. Fast forward to the season and McDermott played pretty well and Linder is a top level guard. No reason to think there would be a switch now that McDermott is getting bigger/stronger/older. We all know that being a great center is a lot more than just being a great lineman.

You could make a case that Feliciano is our best overall lineman, according to position. No way in **** that guy is on the bench.

Cause Feliciano isn't a former 5-star.

Great thing is..."The eye in the sky don't lie"...and when you turn on that tape he's our best lineman week after week. He flat out bullies people. I've only seen one lineman get the best of him and it was Louis Nix. (straight beast)

It's no coincidence that Miami either runs behind him on ISO plays or pulls him on Power plays.

Without a doubt. He doesn't get the respect he deserves cause he had less stars than some of his teammates.

Could be a situation about making the calls. You can have someone else make the calls but, the center makes the snap so it reduces confusion or early snaps before the calls are out.

Linder is a good-looking 6'6" 317lbs. How much bigger you want him to be? He actually looks like a prototype Offensive Tackle to me.
