Position battles going into Fall camp

Where are you guys seeing all his evidence about the running game? We didn't run the ball last year.

2nd to last in the ACC in attempts.

We barely even tried.

Yeah kind of my point. I know we had to score as much as possible last year, I get that. But **** anyone with half a brain knows run blocking can be as much about rhythm as anything. You make the guys pass block 99% of the time and its no wonder we don't look as strong as we should when we run. The line, the running backs, the receivers, the QB.....everyone benefits from a consistent running attack. **** throw in the defense as well.

Exactly. And the only problem I had with Fisch is that he never let our guys get into that rhythm. (that, and the cute lil' trick plays he used to try for no apparent reason)

I don't want Perryman at MLB at any point this season whether it's in a 3-4 or 4-3. Keep him at WLB and let him make plays.

There is no MLB in a 3-4 so you don't have to worry about that.

You want him on the outside in a 3-4? You want a 5'11" Linebacker taking on blocks and attempting to hold the edge against Offensive Tackles and Tight-Ends? I don't.

And MLB gives him a chance to make plenty of plays. He's in the middle of the defense.

You make a very good point, I just don't see him making a huge impact in 3-4 looks period. I hope I'm wrong as I would like to see us be more varied with our fronts. I really don't feel like we have a 3-4 OLB on the team, I guess that's why bond is starting at SLB, but he's only 240.

Totally agree with this, Fisch never allowed the OL to take over the game, hopefully Coley will allow the big fellas to push people off the line and pound the ball more this year.

Right. So Kehoe used his "weakest run blocker" for his videos on RUN BLOCKING. LOL

Delusional. SMH

Let's just ignore the game film and make blanket statements. Not sure if serious. I feel like you're messing with me right now. Nobody with a clue would say that Feliciano is our weakest run blocker. He absolutely mauls people.

Lol u are weird man..... "nobody with a clue" would say Feliciano mauls people. When???.... at practice? lol. None of our olinman "mauled" anybody last year.

If Feliciano is this great then why is Bunche going to take his spot then?

SMH

1. I just showed you video of Feliciano straight up bullying people. LOL
2. Feliciano is one of our highest grading lineman on the team.
3. Bunche has zero chance of taking his spot. Henderson couldn't take Feliciano's spot when they were at RT.
4. Kill yourself. You're clueless.

Lol
1. are u Feliciano's girlfriend???
2. Seantrel Henderson needed back surgery during that time.
3. Seantrel is a way better ol prospect then Feliciano.
4. Feliciano couldnt get a push to save his life at times last year.

I'm talking to somebody who doesn't know WTF they're looking at.

Conversation over. I'm arguing with somebody who has LiL Boosie as their avatar and expecting him to know about football. LOL smh

CHECK MATE :crownpour:

SMH @ checkmate when i posted clips debunking your argument.

I didnt watch the clips but the point is out of flowers, bunche, linder, henderson, and feliciano... ur boyfriend is the least best olineman of that group.

Well then take 5 minutes out of your schedule (I know you ain't doin **** anyways), sit your dumb *** down and watch the clips. Then I want you to come back and tell me that one of our highest grading O-lineman can't get any push.

LOL @ calling me somebody's boyfriend when you got Boosie as your avatar. That's your boo, ain't it? You let him "set it off" in your mouth.

Competition breeds success and we should have some serious competitions at numerous positions going into fall camp, so let's hear who we think will win starting jobs.
I will bold the positions where I think there are actual jobs up for grabs.

QB: Morris, Crow, Williams, Olsen redshirts
RB: Duke, Dallas, Dillard, one of the freshman or Hagans
FB: Hagans
WR: Dorsett, Scott, Hurns, Waters, Lewis, Coley there should be some serious battles to get into the rotation here, I'm sure I left someone out.
TE: Warlord, Sandland, Cleveland
OL: Seems pretty set IMO
LT: Flowers
LG: Feliciano
C: McDermott
RG: Linder
RT: Henderson
Bunche will be the swing OL who can play nearly everywhere
DE: Chick: maybe slides into DT on passing downs.
DE: Green (hopefully pushed by AQM or Hoilett)
DT:Porter
DT: Pierre
Robinson could be primed to challenge for a spot

SLB: Bond/Grace/McCord/Figs This should be a major battle
MLB: Gaines and Kirby another big battle
WLB: Perryman
CB: Gunter
CB: Howard/Crawford
CB: nickel: Burns/Dortch

S: Bush
S: Jenkins/Highsmith/Carter

Seems like we should have some good competition and hopefully some of the young kids can come and make a big push, especially at DE.

Our starting TE now goes by Warlord? We back.

I saw posters calling him that last year and loved it.

Funny thing is I think it started because that's how his name gets auto-corrected, and it stuck.

I'm not a fan of a weak DE and a strong DE when the two starters are basically the same player (Green and Chick).

Get our best DEs on the field. Now if that is, in fact Green, then Lord help our D.

i respect Green but he should not be starting at all..... I want to see Chick and Hamilton in the starting line-up.

I would be alright with Green at DE during 1st-2nd downs, but agree we are in trouble if he's who we are depending on for the pass rush. Hopefully AQM is physically ready from day 1, or maybe Bond can slide to DE on passing downs.
