Great podcast. Thanks. You’ve increased my optimism on this recruiting class for the Canes.

One note on our two new OL commits. Yes, the staff seems willing to take chances on huge, athletic OL recruits who are just 3 stars at the moment. Agree that they are hoping to find more diamonds like Anaz Cooper.

My thought is that the Portal has changed the perspective of our coaches. If these guys become stars like Cooper, great. Well done. If they don’t? You no longer have to carry them on your roster for 4-5 years. The Portal gives the coaches an option to “export” recruits who don’t make the grade. So, the risk of taking a developmental OL recruit has been diminished substantially.

Tough business. But the coaches can now cut their losses if they miss on the evaluation of high school recruits. Developmental players are now much less risky than they have been under older recruiting rules.

im not comparing class to ours im just speaking facts to their class currently. This the most ive ever seen them cook early.

Rutgers just beat us up a few months ago doing what Mario wants to do= so i aint looking down on them like the big east days lol

You casnt teach that wingspan and sizes if they can cook up the technique (mario, bain, mirabal)and thye have some toughness one of em will hit

Agree, eventually a couple of them will hit. I mean our entire OL is nothing but 6'5+ 300LBs+ with NFL bodies. You can't teach natural power and size

this is why you probably wouldnt drop huge nils for a tackle that is gonna sit and possibl transfer out if he doesnt beat out any of those guys.

Next class you may go higher in nil budget.

We kind of need a certified center an interior prospects but i wont break the bank their either.

I would spend on Buchanon and the samoan from Goreman though

Good point. Man NIL trickles into all aspects now.

Exactly. The kinds of players that fly under the radar in recruiting and end up day 1-2 draft picks coming out of places like Rutgers, Memphis, etc. Happens all the time.

Hopefully Rodriguez or nino has been doing something to get ready Rodriguez was here when Danny Miaz was coach let that sink in? Correct me if I'm wrong!!!
