You know though we killed Shannon and Golden has basically the same record as Shannon in year 2. I don't think we should fire Golden but shouldn't we be concerned. We just lost to a bad UVA team. They had 3 wins coming into today and we just blew a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. Thats Shannon level stuff right there. Guys getting suspended before the game. Reeks of undisciplined Shannon squads. The final drive of the game we couldn't get set a few times. A couple huge 4th down situations and we don't bother to call a TO to discuss what we wanna do. Thats again Shannon level stuff.

Exactly. We should be questioning things. I don't know one poster that believes we should be giving the DC another shot next year. Why should we wait till we have NFL talent to expect a solid D?

Now you know one. There's no way you can fire a coordinator for having a crappy defense when he's given crappy players to begin with. Look at the DB's and LB's, especially last year, the DL. There's no experience, no depth, and the best players are all green. It's **** near a miracle that we've won the games we have with what we're putting on the field on D. I have no clue what people expected given that level of talent, but anything more than about a 0.500 team is a pipe dream.
 
Overreaction thread. Same people that swear we are the greatest team ever one week make ****** threads crying the next.

I was at the game. So **** disappointed with this team, especially with our defense. We just lost to a horrible UVA team. How do we let them score 41 points is beyond me. I think this coaching staff really need to sit down look in the mirror and get their **** together. I am getting to a point a losing my trust in this coaching staff. I wouldn't be this upset if we lost to a good team, we are losing to a horrible team...

Yeah, this is what bothers me the most. I wasn't that upset after ND, FSU, UK. They had better talent than us.

But UVA...

I can't even read this thread. Golden is regarded as one of the best young coaches in the game. We're lucky to have him right now. If he doesn't stick around to captain this ship through sanctions we're ****ed. NO ONE worth a **** would touch this job with the ncaa hammer looming over our heads like the sword of damocles.
 
lol at this thread. Everyone on this board was saying 6-6 before the season started and now that it's actually gonna happen we should fire golden. I hate being a canes fan sometimes......

What's the alternative anyway? Nobody really wanted this job before possible sanctions. Could we atleast give him 4 years to prove himself? Smh

Why is it so shocking? We're mediocre. We came into the game a slight underdog.

UVA just waxed NC State on the road last week, and we barely beat them in a death struggle.

We're simply not where we want to be yet.
 
Meh, every coach gets their four years, unless they go Cam Cameron bad.


That said, it is fair to lose some faith in the man. Nobody expects us to compete for NC's for the foreseeable future, but we are still supposed to be better than this.
 
Interesting points in this thread. I think after a long drive back from Charlottesville I have to realize that this is going to take a long time. Saying that with a heavy heart. We have to give it at least three years to see where players are at and what schemes coach have really worked on.
