Our 3 best defensive players were out, 2 FR and a So. I doubt another program in America would say that. This **** is going to take time, it always was going to take time. The team has improved on strength and conditioning, has heart and sometimes it seems like they improved on tackling other times not so much. Other then that not much of a difference.. I still think the D is too young to compete week in and week out. I know people are sick of hearing too young and I'm sick of saying it but that's the reality. I don't see no consistency on either side of the ball, well I take that back we all know Jedd is gonna throw it 50 times a game.

Do you trust Dorito to coach this talent up?? If the ************ can't figure out a way to stop a ****ty 2-6 UVA team, and makes a crap GT squad look like the Four Horsemen, and gets beat by the scrambling ND QB over and over and over, and gives up 450 yards to an awful Boston College QB, and and and and and.... the list of failures is outstripping Bronzen's ability to make valid excuses for it. When you reach that point, it's time for a change.

Arguably our 3 best players on defense were out.

We're a bad, thin defense as it is.

There will always be injuries. With those dudes in the game the D is still ranked in the hundreds.

Guys who have averaged. Below 60% completion rate went for **** near 80%. That is all scheme.

What scheme should we be running?

Its a combination of poor play calling and a asking kids to do things the can't do. Gionni Paul should not be asked to cover receivers in the slot. We should have put Howard or Mcgee on the slot receiver down the stretch. We shouldn't ask the team to cover while we rush 3 when they have not been able to cover all day.

So what scheme should we run? One that doesn't put the kids at a disadvantage. Its poor play calling and scheme.

You know though we killed Shannon and Golden has basically the same record as Shannon in year 2. I don't think we should fire Golden but shouldn't we be concerned. We just lost to a bad UVA team. They had 3 wins coming into today and we just blew a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. Thats Shannon level stuff right there. Guys getting suspended before the game. Reeks of undisciplined Shannon squads. The final drive of the game we couldn't get set a few times. A couple huge 4th down situations and we don't bother to call a TO to discuss what we wanna do. Thats again Shannon level stuff.

Lmao yup he gets a neg from me.. I thought golden did a **** of a job for his recruiting efforts in his first year and for last year I don't remember one cane fan being disappointed with how that class ended. Especially considering the doom and gloom hangin over the program right now..

dont think we need to fire golden but he needs to show some major and I MEAN MAJOR improvements next year coaching wise. short of losing half your juniors and seniors to sanctions, anything less than 9 wins next year is unacceptable. you give a coach 4 years but golden should receive more than that bc of the sanctions coming but at some pt he needs to take control of the playcalling on both ends. goldens a defensive guy he can see whats working and what isnt he needs to either force his boy to run his stuff or take over and call his own stuff.

Miami82 this was a terrible loss. Sick as any Cane of losing to pedestrian ACC teams. It'll be interesting to see how the coaches and players respond next week. Golden has done a very good job recruiting and has a plan in place. I think we need more time to see what happens as he continues to build the roster. No excuse for our defense to play the way it has this season. At the end of the day you are what your record and stats say you are.

You haven't analyzed anything. You're just *****ing.

If you can't see that the team plays hard, is stronger than it was (long way to go still), and has a nice collection of young talent (also long way to go), then you need to open your eyes. Mediocre teams with mediocre talent with very little upperclassmen leadership sometimes don't win tight conference road games. Never mind the off-field issues (best D players left at home). Go ahead, jump off the ledge now.

Exactly. We should be questioning things. I don't know one poster that believes we should be giving the DC another shot next year. Why should we wait till we have NFL talent to expect a solid D?
