Jacob Coker graduating early, potential Miami QB?

So Coley is an OC at Miami ad Coker is a backup at FSU and the rumor is Coker may graduate early so the obvious answer has to be Potato? Thanks for enlightening us all OP. I remember when I had my first beer. Make sure to strap that helmet on nice and tight before getting on the bus.

Amazing post, kudos!

Why exactly would I be worried about or not like getting a graduate transfer quarterback who has projected by some (yikes) to be a 1st rounder?

If I were Coker, I would be working to align my grades/classes to graduate early and transfer. If I were Coley, and Coker wanted to come to Miami, I would listen. If I were a fan, I would relax and enjoy the 2013 season and let things play out.

I know there has to be a JIMMIES = UNRUSTLED meme around here somewhere.

There's one big reason I'm not worried about the 2014 season: We are only 2 games into the 2013 season.
One game at a time.
How about one year at a time.

Bye week followed by Savannah state week. Now is the time to get these conversations going. All of this stuff goes away next Sunday. :)

If Olsen doesn't start next year he will likely never be our starter. By the time next season rolls around he will have been here for a 1.5 years and had two springs under Coley (assuming he stays). That's more than enough time to learn the system and get acclimated to college ball.

ibis,
sorry, if that poster is gonna say according to reports by writers at camp this fall, his arm is weak and he looks horrible, he needs to have some links.
i'm sure like jhall, I don't remember reading remotely close to that by anyone.

Ryan Williams will be the game 1 starter next year. If he can hold the job remains to be seen.

But I dont think our staff is going to want a true or redshirt freshman to be the starter in week 2 when we go into Lincoln, Nebraska.

True. We won our first National Championship with a redshirt freshman, but we don't want to do that again.

So Coker is going to transfer here why? We have Williams, Olsen, Crow, and will have Kaaya, and possibly Rozier on the roster. When Brock Berlin came here, we were rather thin at QB behind Dorsey. Assuming the two commits we have stick, we will be pretty deep at QB next year. So why exactly would this kid want to come HERE vs some other program that needs a QB?

Bringing in one transfer in position of need like Dline is one thing, bringing in qb when you have serious competiton there already is another. I would hope that Cow or Williams will be serious competition for Olsen next year. We need to grow line of QBs again. Al is all about balance and depth has is doing masterful job building it from the mess he inherited. If this was two or three years ago, yeah the kid would get welcome wagon, now he is not needed. Kind of shocking that Bama would need him. If they do, then Saban has more issues than would be apparant.

Olsen is coach's kid. Al would not be afraid to start him; he will not be true freshman. If Williams is good enough to beat him out then Al will go with him. Everyone here is all about So FL talent, so let's not forget that Williams won Florida state title in HS here. I like our situation at QB now.

Part of the problem of being a coach's kid, in a well known football family - is that he may have peaked already. The conference he was in in North Jersey is nowhere near the strength of the Florida, Texas, Georgia type conferences. We'll see once he gets through U-Tough.

Golden loves the value of playing older players because of the maturity they bring to the game, I'd be shocked if its not Williams.
