Not interested in any excuses.

Win the Coastal or get out of my sight.

Given what those guys were coming in, he's actually done an ok job with their "development." Some of the defenders look worse than what they are because of what they're asked to do. From that list, I think 6-7 guys have a chance to be drafted or get a shot at an NFL roster. 3 on defense.

Add in a very talented Junior class, and really, it's ACC Championship or bust.

Not only talented, but very experienced. Most of them have been playing full-time for two seasons now. There are literally no excuses for this not be Golden's best defense ever.

No excuses, but there may be one reason: our defensive line is not good enough.

Depth at linebacker is also a bit sparse. Either way, there's enough talent on that side of the ball that if we're routinely giving up 500 yards/game again and Dono isn't fired mid-season, I think people might get upset.

And they weren't playing teams like Virginia and Pitt. Those Pac 12 offenses are no joke. Over half their teams are in the top 40 in total offense plus the meat grinders that are Stanford. Us? Nope. We give up 360 yards to Wake Forest, who averaged like 290 YPG and finished ranked 118 out of 123

Your post prompted me to throw this together. It's a chart that shows Miami's opponents offensive numbers vs what they did against us. I removed the FAU and Savannah State games. We only managed to hold 2 teams below their season average. And one of those two was against FSU who we still allowed 500+ yards against and only 2 yards below their season average.

I think its too late for F.A.G. to save his own *** by scapegoating No-D. the time for that was this offseason. he didnt do it. hes going down with his BFF.

Recruiting has been going well enough that I don't think Golden's job is in any jeopardy. He'll get pressured into firing Dono and it'll end there. Unless he brings in someone with a fresh approach and keeps his hands off the defense then we can obviously expect similar results under the new DC.

really? you dont think his job is in jeopardy? all we do is get blown out by above .500 teams, blow the coastal TWICE in embarrassing fashion, give up 500 yards a game more often than not, have the worst defense that I can ever remember seeing at Miami.

this class was not recruited they were desperate bodies needed to filed a team...

Be that as it may; the 2014 senior class has talent and experience and will have about 10 starters. If Golden cannot make it work with this team, if he fails to achieve, even in the modest task that is winning the bloody ACC Coastal, then we have no choice but to demand that he gets out of our collective sight and go home to New Jersey.

He's basically led us to three bowl games. Has been the face of the program during a ****** time. Has been sought after (sort of) by other big-name programs. Has recruited pretty well. I think he'll get more time unless we go 3-9.

per our results (win loss is what matters).. his job is not in jeopardy at all.. now, if we win 6 games next year, that seat will warm up quick.

Our admin doesn't have the sack to can him even if we go 3-9. Canning the program's "White Knight" after he led the 'brave' navigation through the NCAA mess that he wasn't even aware of buys him all the time he wants. If you don't think that's the narrative then you're wrong. The national media would absolutely destroy us and would make us out to be an unrealistic program that is out of touch with our current place in college football and a disloyal bunch to boot. Unfortunately, the national reputation of Coach Golden exceeds our view because of what he went through with the NCAA and not based on his actual coaching prowess.

Had he not tried to leave to take the Penn State job I'd agree with you.

Lord have mercy every stat is worse than the previous one. You have to be down right retarded to not see that these coaches are garbage.

He will resign before that happens. One of two things will happen if we win under 8 games this season.
1. Golden gets fired and takes dorito with him
2. Golden is pressured to fire Dorito (which he will not do) and resign instead.
8 wins or more will give Golden one more year unfortunately without being pressured to fire anyone or being fired himself. Less than 8 and it some jobs will be lost. Potentially even Goldens.
