Golden's First True Senior Class

And they weren't playing teams like Virginia and Pitt. Those Pac 12 offenses are no joke. Over half their teams are in the top 40 in total offense plus the meat grinders that are Stanford. Us? Nope. We give up 360 yards to Wake Forest, who averaged like 290 YPG and finished ranked 118 out of 123

Your post prompted me to throw this together. It's a chart that shows Miami's opponents offensive numbers vs what they did against us. I removed the FAU and Savannah State games. We only managed to hold 2 teams below their season average. And one of those two was against FSU who we still allowed 500+ yards against and only 2 yards below their season average.

but what was our offenses 3rd down coversion %? probably cut some of those yards if they coulda stayed on the field

Two biggest games for the Coastal title:

Virginia Tech
-Virginia Tech had the 4th best defense in the country
-We put 24 points on them

-Virginia Tech had the 101st worst offense in the country
- We gave up 549 yards and 42 points at home, in a monsoon

Duke
- Our offense totals 565 total yards, 30 points, and only 1 turnover

- Duke's 47th ranked offense totals 543 yards (358 on the ground) with 48 points and 0 turnovers.

Just ......Just....Just make it stop

Cant believe the depths people go to defend this sorry excuse for coaching and players on defense. I mean your really blaming the offense?..3rd down efficiency??...

GTFOH......they got their doors blown off by avg offenses since Goldy's been here. Stephen Morris really had something to do with Duke's rb doing the WOBBLE DANCE for **** near 400 yds down our throats. Or their fake tebow running the ball like the Icebox on little giants through our d.

who the **** is defending D'onfrio or that wack defense??

facts are that the D sucks and our offensive efficiency sucked too.

#113 in the nation in 3rd down efficiency. ****, we didn't even convert 1 3rd down in the bowl game.

if we had an efficient offense, would our defense have been good? **** no! But, the offenses inability to sustain drives definitely hurt the defense.

Many here are so blinded by their hate for "NoD Dorito" that they don't see that we had serious problems on both sides of the ball. Truth be told, the most successful unit our team was the punting unit.

How though?....when their getting dogwalked from their first posession on d?

Are they tired?....why are they tired, when all they do is CATCH??..

They arent running around blitzing, they arent gang tackling, and on passing downs their spot dropping in zones.. why are they tired again?...the long sustained drives the o would have would change something?...
I just want a respectable d,the only d ive seen worse or close to was Tx A&M's from a big program

And he's not even asking to win the conference--just the sorry *** Coastal. Is that really asking for too much?

In all honestly there's only one team on our schedule who's flat out better than us; FSU. The rest of the schedule we should be able to handle.

that's fine, but it has to be within a reasonable time frame, after the futility we've experienced with the previous regimes.

Miami football should NEVER, NEVER have issues beating Duke, Wake, UNC, UVA, etc.

**** out of here with time frame. I bet vt would love to be able to recruit the type talent miami can. Duke would love to have majority of our roster. We have more talent than everbody in the coastal and the rest of the acc besides fsu. Aint nobody asking for a national championship this year but how long does he ****** need to beat unc, uva, pitt, gt, vt, duke etc shouldnt take a roster full of 5 stars to do that.

Not even beat. How long does it take to even compete? Because we're not. We are losing by 2-3 TOUCHDOWNS. Ain't like these teams are hitting game winning field goals or some hail mary bull ****. We are getting BEAT by these teams, and beat badly. When the **** is that ever okay?

What's a reasonable time frame?

It took a good coach 7 seasons at duke to get it together for a 10 win season, so i'd say this season is when we need to start showing something. If we had been a 10+ win team within the last 2 or 3 seasons i'd say the turnaround time would be a slightly less.

This season, is the 4th season.. you may want brush up on your reading comprehension.

Maybe you should. TK asked what's a reasonable time frame to compete and you went into some bull**** about it taking a good coach 7 seasons at Duke.

What's the timetable for Miami to compete for championships?

A reasonable timeframe was LAST season.

And I agree with TK. Now I know the beauty of college football is you just never know what will happen any given Saturday. A Boston College will **** near beat a juggernaut. It happens. But this ****, this **** we see, it happens TOO ******* MUCH.

I'm done with it. I'm done with the excuses, I'm done with the silver linings. I'm done with the god**** stats. **** your stats, **** your excuses, **** Penn State.....our head coach has a **** of a lot he owes the fans this year. I think he knows it.

We'll see.

When you look at the names on this senior class, they are much better than what we have had the last 2 years as seniors for sure.

But they are still nowhere near what a Miami senior class is supposed to look like... Specially on defense.

The junior class "looks" like a Miami class as do the sophomore and freshman classes.
