Time to see wether all that offseason small ball pays off
Would love to have the mentality of win the game you’re in.Midweek woes continue. Would really like to see Arteaga managing these games like they're important to any postseason hopes rather than glorified scrimmage times.
Still cannot fathom what was going through his head as he let Fernandez lose the game.
Midweek woes and Boca Blues that’s now 5 straight loses up there. Going to have to start treating Boca like Gainesville and just consider it an L when the schedule comes out.Midweek woes continue. And high school defense. And then shutting down school hitting. So, opening series was more false hope. I guess we need to stop getting excited about lots of runs against, basically, HS pitching.
Team of singles hitters looking to slap the other way.pitching was fine, we can't hit
Not only did the defensive replacement come up in a big spot, but JD inexplicably took the bunt off with the 2-0 count only to watch him get sat down on 3 pitches. Did he really think he was likely to get a hit there? To recap:
Arteaga takes out one of his best hitters to bring in a defensive replacement.
Arteaga plays hot potato with his bullpen and burns through it, only to settle on a true freshman who...didn't look to be *that* kind of talent to me.
Watches him give up a leadoff double, then walk a guy. Has a righty warming only to let his true freshman lefty face their best hitters and really never compete.
That defensive replacement comes up in a big spot only to give a feeble at-bat.
Canes lose.

Fabio Peralta for Derek WilliamsWho was the defensive replacement?
I actually didn’t like a blunt there at all. He was going to get a fast ball. I’d prefer a hit and run.Not only did the defensive replacement come up in a big spot, but JD inexplicably took the bunt off with the 2-0 count only to watch him get sat down on 3 pitches. It does look like we brought in some better arms, but I’m not liking what I’m seeing from these transfer hitters. It’s early, but enough to be concerned in my opinion.
He got fastballs. Wasn’t close to hitting them.I actually didn’t like a blunt there at all. He was going to get a fast ball. I’d prefer a hit and run.
Two bad plays in the field tonight as well. Tough to watch!Cuvet not seeing the ball at all so far. I think that’s like 6/7 K’s in just over 2 games.
90.7 was one of his pitches@ErickMarreroU @Canesfreak , what is Lumpkin sitting on his fastball?
God bless yall for watching this program, for real. I think I’ve watched maybe 5 games since JD was hired. And this is coming from someone who watched at least 80% of the games for 20 years. If they’re not gonna take the program seriously, neither am I.
Manny was 5000% more qualified to be the head football coach than JD was to be the head baseball coach. Such a clown show program in every way.
