Game 4: 2/18/25 FAU 6:30 PM 2-1 L (3-1)

You can tell who is a football fan and who actually watching and follows the program. The amount of people that are uneducated about this program in this chat is laughable. Stop bringing up Fraser and Morris when it was easier to win games. I don't want to hear anything about those two coaches. This is 2025 not 1980.

Anyone calling for JD's head after yesterday needs to get reevaluated. Think before you type......
it has nothing to do with the loss yesterday

What’s Turtle Thomas up to these days? Boy could he recruit his *** off

My criticism is over the things he can control. We have fixed the bullpen and should never be allowing a true freshman to stand out there and blow the game after over managing earlier.

When you have veteran options you should be spoon feeding the freshmen at this stage in my opinion.

If Cleveland was available to come into the game in the 7th, he should've started the inning.

Anything but letting that kid stand out there and walk the world.

And the over managing with subs and pitching changes all to let a true freshman blow the game (and not an elite 1st round true freshman).

The bats are why we lost and I get that, but as the manager you can only contribute in certain spots and he continues to be a net negative to my eyes.
I agree with everything you said, You give your reasons and reasons why, unlike other who just say "Fire him and give no reasoning or details why.

After we allowed those two runs, i looked to @SWEaglesFan and said those defensive changes are going to hurt us now.

The reality is Miami is now no better than FAU, UCF & FGCU. We were once the standard bearer, but those days are long gone.
My daughter goes to an SEC school with a really good program and the level of commitment and program overall is nothing short of amazing.
It's 4 games... what are you talking about. Give your reasons why like @Lance Roffers or you are just typing to just type.

Objectively that was a bad loss:

-Poor Bullpen control: I don't mind getting the freshmen innings, but Fernandez should have been pulled before the bases were loaded. Giving Ashford two batters to then stretch Fernandez makes little sense.
-Bats were no where, only a handful of quality swings let alone hits. We did not look confident at the plate whatsoever.
-Overall just came out flat with no energy like the first series.

We've continuously said that we need to be 9-0 with 8-1 being the absolute minimum headed into Gainesville. A loss isn't the end of the world here. But losing another or even two games before playing a top team in the country could really send us downhill extremely fast

Dude, no one here needs to explain themselves. It was obvious to anyone with a pulse this hire was not going to work out from day 1. Fact is, many of us watched UM baseball for years and knew JD needed to find his way out as pitching coach, instead he was promoted because a couple of his booster buddies forced the AD’s hand. Pitching wise, we have been behind UF for years and only had regressed under JD, not to mention he was a lazy recruiter by many accounts. How does this warrant a promotion? No respectable program would have even taken him as a pitching coach.

Most who have been following canes baseball for years have been checked out since day 1 of this abomination. What makes me the most upset is that we had a few legit coaches that would have come here and made us a national contenders again. I feel bad that you have to defend this embarrassment.

Reminiscent of when JP Gates was allowed to blow a game at Florida his freshman year.

Why what, we’ve been mediocre for years and struggled to beat high quality programs. We’ve also struggled with midweek games for years now.
We were a dominant force for decades and I was a season-ticket holder for 30 years. It’s just disappointing to see what’s become of the program and yes, I know it’s just one loss, but it’s compounded with the lack of success over the last several years.

Yeah I don't get the making defensive changes every single game, We need to have some games where the defense stays the same especially if they're not playing poorly. I'm of the opinion this team is not quite as good as the most optimistic people thought it was but it's not as bad as the Debbie downers think it is either.

You're referring to people who have been loyal fans since the 80's. People who (used to) travel to watch regionals, Super Regionals, and the CWS. I walked from Pearson 30 times a year to watch games, and then came back every year for the postseason after moving away.

You are literally talking about the MOST educated people in this fan base. That's how out of touch you are.

GuYsm, how do we expect to get better if we are in public bashing our coach?

Maybe fire the coach that never should have been hired and replace him with someone competent.

Fly the ******* banner. Worst hire in the history of UM athletics.
Correct. The action plan is fire bad coach. Hire good coach. Invest in the program. Not create bull**** propaganda to protect a clueless athletic department that makes one poor decision after another.

No one here likes firing coaches and being ****ed off about the teams underperforming .. but the athletic department reaps what they sow.

this isn't 1980 get educated on the current landscape of the game. You say you're educated but educated how? because you know the history? All you are showing is that you are an emotional fan who doesn't like what he sees and that is fine. No one is disagree about him getting the job, but miss with the fire him after we lost 2-1 to FAU. I don't want to hear it. The most educated people are the same ones who ran DiMare out of this job when he was donating his **** salary back to the baseball program every year

I have 11 graduates currently playing in college, including four P4 players. I know the current landscape of baseball, thank you.

No one said to fire him after one loss. We said don't hire him to begin with, because this is the kind of loss you will get. Big difference. And yes, the educated people wanted DiMare out because he was the de facto head coach when we blew the regional streak and then stumbled through his entire tenure without getting out of a regional. "He donated his salary" isn't a reason to keep a failed coach.

I'll turn it back on you. What is it about J.D. Arteaga that makes you think he can get us back to (1) automatic regional bids, (2) regular Super Regional appearances, and (3) occasional CWS berths? Show your work, and how he fits right in with the "current landscape".

I don’t get how you score 35 runs over the weekend and only get 1 yesterday.
35 runs is misleading when Niagara couldn't field multiple routine grounders and pop ups. We got 1 fluky HR and had a few timely hits but it was hardly a barrage. Pitching was fine though.
