Finally Admit Lanning > Mario

Also, for the record Gabriel showed that UCF/OU version of y NFL scouts weren’t high on him. Dude had guys open & unless it was a perfect, wide open window he refused to throw it, costing his team yard after yards. OSU literally adjusted & said “beat us; we’re going to stop ur star RB, & we want u, DG, to beat our coverage.”

Windows were open but b/c his arm can’t fit those tight ones, he was stymied. I would assume if UO had Nix instead of Gabriel this would’ve been a different score. The only reason y UO didn’t make the CFP last yr w/ Nix was due to Lanning being way too aggressive costing the team easy points & a very controversial fumble that was reversed in UW favor. Nix was $$ last yr & he carried me to two FFB title games this yr

Today's loss is not acceptable in Oregon terms. They pay a cr@p load that we don't come close too and that's what they put out?

Mario>Lanning
Y'all are ******* ridiculous

Mario couldn't coach his way out of wet paper bag and are really trying to say he's better than a coach that just went 13-1, has a better roster, facilities, NIL, coordinators, recruiters, et al.

If Lanning were here instead of Mario, we would've played in this years playoffs without a doubt

Gabriel was playing like trash and probably accounted for at least 6 of the 8 sacks they had. He held the ball for way too long and refused to use his legs when he was too afraid to throw.

His indecisiveness made this game look much more dominant than it should have been.

When they showed the replays, his WRs were running in to windows. Any QB worth a **** throws w/ anticipation. My boy who’s a Raider fan asked about him & I told him he’s a 6th Rd+ QB, but I encouraged them to draft him 1st Rd. Lol

nahh we ain’t fried 😂😂😂 just great convo…OSU don’t take a backseat to no one in the talent department…Folks crowned Dan and he ain’t won ish yet..a good coach who is on his way to the top….im a Miami Hurricanes fan not a Mario fan and if he was still at Oregon they would still be in the playoffs this year imo…Ryan Day is a good coach ..folks who say he ain’t are a lil….lol
I doubt MC would have UO in the playoffs. I would give them a 10 win season though. I doubt he would have signed and developed Nix and Gabriel, let alone have production from the qb position. Have you seen the QBs MC recruited at UO? Sometimes I think he recruits for himself just to say he signed a 4 star. And this is from someone who has heralded MC recruiting in the past. I’m still giving him credit for TY Hilton and Antonio Brown but he’s getting way too many busts now.

To add to that, you usually prepare for the team you faced in much the same way, with a few wrinkles thrown in. In particular when it's worked for 13 games in a row. Why change what worked and has been working.

The opposing team knows this and will draw up a game plan to expose those weaknesses. It'll be something new, that hopefully the other team isn't prepared for. In the case of OSU, they've come a ways since their first meeting.
Their gameplan was to get the ball to Smith he had his Thanksgiving feast, Christmas Dinner, and New Years greens, black eye peas, and fish on that secondary. Especially number 9. He wasn’t running any special routes, he just caught over him. I can’t recall a freshman making a grown man look like a child. Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson didn’t even do that to our secondary and we had a slow decline during that time.

If Dan were the coach here we would probably be in the playoffs if Mario was coaching Oregon they probably would have several losses. College football is the semi pros now. But there is more parity. The years of Georgia and bama or Clemson bama are over. Let me ask you a question. Will Mario make the playoffs in the next two years and will he win the acc?
The years of the UGAs and Bamas are not over. The teams spending the most money still have the best rosters and the best chances to win.

It’s been over 20 years we’ve been trash 😂. That’s a whole lot of coaches and players. Last year was the most competitive I’ve seen the canes look in a very long time. We all saw TVD. We were all sold on him. He tanked us.

Mario went and got Ward and took another step. The trajectory is up until it’s not. I thought Guidry was good 🤷🏾‍♂️. Turns out he wasn’t. Mario got his *** out. It’s better than keeping him to prove you’re right.

I’m not worried about future made up scenarios. When I see next year’s team I will judge them. I’m letting Mario cook because Lanning ain’t running through the smoke. I have tempered expectations as long as we are in the ACC and we aren’t spending major. Ask me again if we can win the ACC after the offseason. As of this moment, no.

Gotta spend that money. We let multiple stud DBs in the portal walk last offseason. Spend that ****.

Many on here say Mario left Lanning a great situation, but the #s say otherwise as far as # of transfers Lanning has made in his tenure to improve his roster. This was year 3 of Mario and Lanning is running circles around him again. Oregon got the better of the deal with Mario coming here
Aged like my sons dirty diapers

The resources matter now more than ever. Look at what they are doing in the portal. Mario won at Oregon and as someone mentioned, Oregon would probably still be in the playoff today with Mario.

You think If UM could go pay Ewers 6m and Horton whatever he wants to stay, and get whoever else they want, that Mario wouldn’t win? You think Mario is only spending big on one position at a time because he wants to??

The salary cap is the only thing that matters. It doesn’t matter who the coach is. Ain’t nothing new in football schemes.
There's no way Mario would've had Oregon in the playoffs this season if he was still coach. He would've dropped 3 or 4 games in the B10 alone.

Also, for all those talking about Mario and his 2 Pac-12 championships, 1 of them was during the covid 2020 pandemic where the season was shortened and the Pac12 didn't start their season until November. Mario and Oregon went 4-3 (3-2 in the Pac12) including losses to unranked Oregon State and unranked Cal. Oregon backed into that game bc Washington had to cancel due to having a team wide covid outbreak. Think that's important to note.

Oh and the team Mario lost to the in the Fiesta bowl that year, Iowa f****g state.

Finally?

😂😂😂😂😂😂

For anyone thinking Mario is a better coach than Lanning, give Lanning Ward and they beat Oh St easily for a second time. DG is a decent qb, but has limitations. DG at Miami with all of the teams deficiencies are a 7-8 win team.
really? Gabriel was running for his life every play, they had no run game. their OL was abused. there defense was a complete confused mess you would think guidry was coaching.

It still bothers me that Gabriel finished ahead of Cam in the Heisman voting. You wanna give it to Hunter? Fine, but there’s no scenario where I would ever take him over Cam.

Hmmmm, r u sure u wanna do this? R u going to pretend like OSU doesn’t have the same amount of talent, if not more talent on that roster?

Ya’ll r fried fr. Lol. Remember CIS’ narrative of Ryan Day? Calling him a corch although blood has a +.800 win% for his entire career? Saying he’s a corch b/c he’s lost to UofM who had a NFL HC w/ NFL players on the roster?

Listen Holmes the last thing imma do is take advice of who’s who or what from this board. Most of ya’ll don’t even watch full CFB games w/ objectivity; it’s “I’m going to root against & pray for any coach or team that makes Mario look bad.” Lol.
Facts bruh

People crazy about Day. I had to tell a fan that recently of OSU. I’m like bruh yall got a good HC and if yall fire him yall in trouble. You are always getting the cream of the crop and in the hunt yearly and always hear at least 2 or 4 names in the first round of the draft yearly. Stop complaining you know nothing about football. This is basically what I had to tell this *****
