Finally Admit Lanning > Mario

He is in his third season as a head coach and he is under 40. He has less overall experience than Mario but still is a better overall coach than Mario. I would rather have him than Mario truthfully.
Lanning has unlimited funds. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment even comparing the 2.

One thing Lanning has over Mario is a coordinator background as he would’ve been able to interject himself and helping Guidry out instead of not being able to do **** and having to wait to the season before you do something
He probably should interject himself into his defense that gave up over 1,000 yards and 78 points in the last 2 games.

Let me know when Mario stops a failed coordinator from dropping defensive lineman into coverage and running 1 million stunts in a row

Depends on how far back you want to go . . . but for starters Switzer, Osborne, Bowden, Holtz, Paterno, Spurrier, even Erickson with two NCs.
Osborne for sure is in there. Switzer and Bowden are maybes. I think Dabo is better than spurrier, holtz, paterno and Erickson.

Mario left Lanning with a full cupboard.

As to championships? Well, Lanning got his *** kicked by Taint when it counted, not during the season when it didn't.

We can't tell about Miami and Cristobal, because we never got the chance to see Cam Ward and his team perform in a playoff environment. Given the horrific defense we saw this year, that's probably a good thing.

Losing to Taint in a shootout would not have been good for morale around here. And given the fact that they have Jeremiah Smith against our Pop Warner Secondary, I'm fairly certain that that's how things would have played out.

They have top tier resources but the fact of the matter is he is a better coach than Mario. Look at what Mario did with those resources. He has a better record than Mario did in their first three years. Also like I say Dan is in his three year as a head coach this is his first go around. Mario been around and hasn't really changed. Also we have seen how many coaches go to teams like Texas and Texas am which top tier resources and don't jack **** because they are average to below average coaches like ya boy Cristobal.

Before Cristobal cristogumped to end the season, I expected this to be the week we lost. With Cam Ward, we Win ACC, get into playoffs and lose after bye. Would have been a great ride. Instead we lost to the children of the corn.

It is incredibly hard to beat a top team twice in a season. Not only are you dealing with a team that has seen all the tricks, it is motivated for revenge.

To add to that, you usually prepare for the team you faced in much the same way, with a few wrinkles thrown in. In particular when it's worked for 13 games in a row. Why change what worked and has been working.

The opposing team knows this and will draw up a game plan to expose those weaknesses. It'll be something new, that hopefully the other team isn't prepared for. In the case of OSU, they've come a ways since their first meeting.

The resources matter now more than ever. Look at what they are doing in the portal. Mario won at Oregon and as someone mentioned, Oregon would probably still be in the playoff today with Mario.

You think If UM could go pay Ewers 6m and Horton whatever he wants to stay, and get whoever else they want, that Mario wouldn’t win? You think Mario is only spending big on one position at a time because he wants to??

The salary cap is the only thing that matters. It doesn’t matter who the coach is. Ain’t nothing new in football schemes.
