His refusal and stubbornness to use the transfer portal. Go and research his roster that year. He was dying on that hill. Obviously he realized he had to maneuver , adapt and pivot to be successful. He did as most good to elite coaches do.

It was a serious question. The guy said Dabo realized his mistake and did what good to elite coaches do. I want to know what he did.

lol I mean, fair...but still. I feel better about OU's program at present than I feel about UM. And I'm not even sympathetic in any sense to their athletic programs.

Lanning just recruits better than Mario thats it but idk if he recruits better than OSU or a UGA....but with the way he recruits he can upset a few of those types of teams on any given Saturday

He is in his third season as a head coach and he is under 40. He has less overall experience than Mario but still is a better overall coach than Mario. I would rather have him than Mario truthfully.

As to championships? Well, Lanning got his *** kicked by Taint when it counted, not during the season when it didn't.

We can't tell about Miami and Cristobal, because we never got the chance to see Cam Ward and his team perform in a playoff environment. Given the horrific defense we saw this year, that's probably a good thing.

Losing to Taint in a shootout would not have been good for morale around here. And given the fact that they have Jeremiah Smith against our Pop Warner Secondary, I'm fairly certain that that's how things would have played out.

Lanning is getting more resources than Mario got, started with a program that was already built up, and really hasn't done any super development yet he has been relying on guys purchased in the portal.

He is good but I am not super impressed.

And he lost 2x in one year to rival UW.

What I find kind of funny is that Mario gets ripped because "he only won cuz uh Cam" while Lanning himself brought in a one year rental at QB.

A slight difference is Lanning was able to establish continuity on both sides of the ball by retaining the coaches he initially hired. That's something Mario still hasn't figured out as he is on his third DC hire and there are questions on how effective Dawson's offense will be without a top 10 pick at QB.
