Finally Admit Lanning > Mario

I do believe Lanning is the better coach but by much? Idk. Want to see how they handle Penn St and then an 8th seeded SEC team most likely in the playoff. Barely beat an overrated Ohio State team at home (Mario beat them at Columbus), struggled against Boise State and Wisky.

Mario probably doesn’t win those but I’m holding off on putting him in the Kirby, Saban, Prime Dabo tier

Like, were you serious with that question?

The typical CIS goons can only think in extremes. If you don’t think Cam Ward was the only reason we won 10 games, then the only other option is that we would have won 10 games “with any QB”.
Show me the plays in those games where Cam Ward single-handedly scored points. Like, the other 10 guys literally did nothing. Thanks in advance.
Extremes you say?

Suggesting the Ward is the difference between several wins being losses is not extreme and it doesn't take anything away from the contributions of the rest of the team.

Except that the claim wasn’t that Ward was the difference between wins and losses. The claim was that Ward was the only reason we won 10 games.

Mario is a fraud because he brought in an elite QB to win games.

Lanning is better because he brought in an elite QB to win games.

Many on here say Mario left Lanning a great situation, but the #s say otherwise as far as # of transfers Lanning has made in his tenure to improve his roster. This was year 3 of Mario and Lanning is running circles around him again. Oregon got the better of the deal with Mario coming here
Addition through subtraction..

It appears you’re more familiar with next year’s roster than I am. For those who don’t know, who leaves in the portal and who comes in?
No idea but based in the fact Mario FAILED to get a QB last year to compete with TVD and FAILED to address the secondary this year I have no faith next year he'll fix the entire defense. He lucked into Cam Ward

LOL. If you're going to argue semantics, you're signaling to everyone that your argument is trash. Obviously we didn't beat opposing 85 man rosters with a roster of 1, lol.

We didn't "build" anything this year. We didn't "take a step forward" this year. We were as mediocre and poorly coached as ever, except we had a superhuman mercenary at QB.

Wait a minute. Manny a defensive coach?
Where are the defensive players?

And who would have figured, the 3rd and 4th year players on offense are the better players. Grown men vs the kids that just got here..hmm interesting

The problem wasn’t that manny didn’t bring in some good players, the problem was he didn’t bring in enough of those good players. That the reason when Williams and Kam K left there was nothing left to replace them.

Manny coached lbs right? Did he recruit any lbs that played in the NFL while he was here. Not Goldens players of or the safety that became a linebacker last year. I mean a player he recruited and brought in to play linebacker.
I'll answer your "where are the defensive players" question.

The secondary players are in the NFL and were sorely missed this year.

The DL players are playing in the ACC title game tonight.

Insane to blame the previous coach in year 3 of a new coach's tenure - especially in the portal era.

Yeah, Mario upset Ohio State at Columbus four years ago. Then turned around and lost at unranked Stanford and got his *** kicked by Utah twice.

And you want to compare the Ohio State game from four years ago to this year’s Oregon-Ohio State game?

Again, that superhuman mercenary went 5-7 the year before. If we were so mediocre and poorly coached he would have gone 5-7 again.

He played at WSU last year lol

Manny averaged 7-5 here. Golden and Shannon weren't much worse. That's the baseline.

You add a superhuman rental to that, vs our schedule, and of course we're going to win 10 games. Mario added no value above what coaches like Manny would do.
