Finally Admit Lanning > Mario

Facts aren't a rant and I'm clearly not wrong as Oregon and Lanning are undefeated and going to the CFP while Mario is limping into the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
You were wrong when you tried to dismiss Mario’s win in Columbus.

And you didn’t answer the question. What now? Lanning is better than Mario, now what?

Really, you're going to say Indiana is #2 in the conference? If they were #2, why didn't they play in the conference championship game? And yes, the BIG10 was the toughest conference...they have 4 teams in the playoff

Dude has been a head coach for 3 years and accomplished something Mario has NEVER accomplished...going undefeated. Apparently, the Boise St win, albeit by 3 points, isn't a quality win when they're also in the CFP? I guess rally from 25 down to beat a crappy Cal team and blowing a 21-point lead against Syracuse are more impressive? Lanning has beaten Boise St, OSU and PSU this season and all 3 teams are in the playoffs.
Since undefeated is the minimum standard, can you please list the active coaches to finish a season undefeated? Thanks in advance.

Not sure if you have issues with reading comprehension, but I just stated Lanning is better because he wins the close games aka he did not lose the dumb ones this year?...But his win vs OSU is not any more impressive than Mario's OSU win. Until yesterday that OSU win was his only quality win?

Toughest conference in the country? Indiana, #2 in the conference, only played two teams who finished with a record over .500 and they went 1-1.

SEC Conference win% .616
B1G Conference win% .570
ACC Conference win% .563
Big XII Conference win% .554

That's up to the powers that be at UM. But considering they hired Mario and gave him everything he asked for and they also hired JD Arteaga as the baseball HC, I wouldn't expect anything to change. We keep hiring UM people and we keep losing. Unfortunately, I think 7-5 and 8-4 are going tom be the norm. Sucks because I was hoping for one more run in my lifetime, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen...

Not going to waste my time any more dude. Just stating the fact Lanning went undefeated and your boy Mario hasn't. Don't put words in my mouth as I NEVER said undefeated was the standard. Not my fault you have a problem with facts

I agree that you’re wasting your time, because there is no rhyme or reason to your complaining. So Lanning is better than Mario? And? Like, that’s an actual question. You’re going to go insane if you hold our coach to the standard of the only undefeated coach in the country.

their marketing can’t be that good the only time I hear about Oregon is on this ******* site lmao.
The national press makes a huge deal about Oregon's uniforms every single week and there is even a weekly poll rating the Top uniform combinations every week now. Branding! You obviously didn't watch any of the "Oregon vs Them" videos that have received a bazillion views

Not going to get into who left what to whom or who is the better coach ( I think it’s Lanning hands down) but I’d really like to know how much this class this year cost UO from paying visitors to the eventual cost of landing the class….im only guessing but just doing a little quick math it gas to make OSU supposed 20million dollar class look like chump change.

Phil Knight said he was going to do whatever was necessary to bring a NC to Oregon before he retired in the next couple years and it looks like he’s a man of his word.
PK officially retired in 2016

Dude, it’s not personal. Like this site’s like a combination of the Player Hater’s Ball on chappelle show and people who pride themselves on being the biggest alpha swinging ****. Seriously, poRsters on here rip apart supermodels as being South Florida 5’s. We’ve got a bunch of Buck Nasty types.

@Rellyrell is a big fan of Nike branding and s student of its impact on Oregon and college football.

I like lanning. He won’t be at Oregon long term. He also makes blunders and can be reckless. Refs bailed him out against wisky and psu. However them Oregon boys are fast. We need that speed
The ref's bailed him out? we must have been watching different games. Oregon ran all over PSU after the first qtr I thought it was going to be a 54-14 blowout. Oregon beat Wisconsin because they are the better team. The officiating has been horrible and sometimes Oregon gets the break but usually it's the other team that gets the break. Lanning should have taken the field goals last year against Washington ...that was a blunder that he owned ...what he didn't do is lose the game and then try to spread the blame to the players like MC

THIS ^^^^

Lanning walked into a dream situation at Oregon and he all the support and resources in the world to make it better.

Mario took over a second-rate program that had been in the toilet for two decades.

I love how so many just whine about this guy, as if any coach with any merit was kicking down the door to come here since Butch Davis left.

Miami couldn't even reel in Greg Schiano from Rutgers back in 2007 and other finalists in the Golden era were Mark Trestman and Randy Edsall.

Ended up with a watered-down Mark Richt in 2016 and the settled on Manny Diaz in 2019 ... yet our fans cry about Mario.

Give the University of Miami a Phil Knight and that endless supply of cash and world class facilities and then let's compare apples to apples with Lanning and Cristobal.

When this team was 9-0 not one gripe about game day coaching; went for big fourth downs and unorthodox two point conversions all season, making all the right calls in epic comebacks, solid running game and a Heisman-worthy quarterback turned loose—ignoring obvious signs this defense would eventually do Miami in, blinded by victory against Virginia Tech, Cal, Louisville and Duke.

All that nonsense about a field goal on 4th-and-Goal from the ten-yard line, as if the bigger story wasn't getting outscored 41-14 the previous two-plus quarters before that; Guidry living and dying by man instead of zone and that brutal scoop and score with Restrepo that was the final dagger and a 14-point swing as Miami was driving.
Correction ...Before Mario had even played one game this year I said the following:

"
I was a former Cristobal fan ... his game management skills are horrible and have cost both Oregon and Miami some games. His other significant coaching flaw (and its a big one) is his inability to develop players and it shows.

Mario squandered Justin Herbert's ridiculous skillset.

His recruiting skills are good but not good enough to make up for his low game management IQ. he is easily outcoached by even average coaches as a result he will never win a natty. Thankfully for Oregon he left for Miami giving the Ducks a coach with better recruiting skills and a much higher game time IQ"

You’re responding to the current MarioBro Número Uno on CIS. Nice guy but a staunch advocate nonetheless.

I like lanning a lot. I love his attitude but the officiating in college is bad. In the 4th and 2 they jumped offside and had offensive pi no called. Also had a bad fumble call

I agree with you 100%.

If you go by Mario's program-build timeline this was the win close year, and I believe we did that for the most part. Cam made us feel further along than we were and Mario went for it in the portal, but we are still in need of talent.

We won't have Cam, but we'll have a better team next year.
Better team based on what?

I always laugh at this take.

Mario saved Herbert’s career.

Dude was a bum. On an underachieving team.

Prone to throwing ill advised picks in the clutch of games (hasn’t changed) and not being the best decision maker and his performance dropping late in games.

Mario built the Oline and the created a more balanced attacked.

Taking pressure off Herbert to be the guy and that is when his career turned around. And Mario did such a bad job that Herbert was drafted 6th overall.

I’m not saying Mario is the greatest game day coach but don’t think it’s a coincidence that the Chargers are having their best year with Herbert as the starter now that have Harbaugh and are a RUN FIRST TEAM?

Even Herbert’s NFL scouting report pointed to the fact that he struggled in those moments and it carried over to NFL ppl tried to create excuses for all his bad plays cuz he was putting records in yards.
