Oregon facilities are second to none. Autzen stadium is a great place to play. Oh and as long as $$$ is king it will be tough to compete with Phil who not only contributes to the program but the state as well.I’m realizing we have a lot in this fan base that need to go on stadium tours or actually watch more CFB vs. looking at box scores & records.
For the 2nd time don't put this on the fans. Forget about what fans said last year. So what if they didn't complain. The 2 NFL Draft picks we had back there obscured the fact that he runs an unsound scheme and that he's extremely limited. Now that ACC coaches had seen him on film, they ripped him up. Didn't help that we had poor talent in the secondary this year. The point is that this is on Mario. He should have known. He is responsible. Quit laying blame at the feet of fans. Yes you are right that he couldn't even coach these kids up to average. That's because the scheme itself and what he teaches go against fundamental principles of sound defense. It's unorthodox and has worked in G5. Outside the novelty of his 1st year, it won't work in P4 and last year he had NFL caliber players at Safety who helped cover up the deficiencies. Once James Williams and Kam Kinchens left it was a wrap. The fact they didn't go out and get 2 very good safeties in the portal is wild.Again I saw little complaining about his scheme/coaching last year, most ppl praised him n said he was the better of the 2 coordinators am I lying ? this is the same DC that helped us shut down Clemson and beat them in god knows forever did u think he was a bum after that game? my point is he got exposed when he no longer had top athletes in the secondary nobody saw this terrible of defense coming not even Mario i suspect , if u wanna blame Mario for not foreseeing that n giving him an extension then have at it that’s fine but at the end of the day Guidry couldn’t even coach these guys up to be average/below average & it cost us

I aint gonna lie Guidry fooled me. I thought just because we were injured and he came with the 3-3-5 stack like he was on to something. Guess not.Again I saw little complaining about his scheme/coaching last year, most ppl praised him n said he was the better of the 2 coordinators am I lying ? this is the same DC that helped us shut down Clemson and beat them in god knows forever did u think he was a bum after that game? my point is he got exposed when he no longer had top athletes in the secondary nobody saw this terrible of defense coming not even Mario i suspect , if u wanna blame Mario for not foreseeing that n giving him an extension then have at it that’s fine but at the end of the day Guidry couldn’t even coach these guys up to be average/below average & it cost us
The only thing that makes Lanning a good coach, Phil Knight! Many on here say Mario left Lanning a great situation, but the #s say otherwise as far as # of transfers Lanning has made in his tenure to improve his roster. This was year 3 of Mario and Lanning is running circles around him again. Oregon got the better of the deal with Mario coming here
I said he cost us a special season this year n u said it’s on Mario for not knowing he was trash b4 he hired him , that’s y I pointed out that nobody was unhappy about his hire last yr not just talking about fans I’m sure boosters n ppl who actually put money behind this thing weren’t saying he sucked after last season…blame whoever you wanna blame he needs to go point blank period. For the 2nd time don't put this on the fans. Yea he needs NFL talent back there for his defense to look competent at this level, last year was fools gold.I aint gonna lie Guidry fooled me. I thought just because we were injured and he came with the 3-3-5 stack like he was on to something. Guess not.
The only thing that makes Lanning a good coach, Phil Knight!
OK, let’s go w this:
Why did Taggart fail w/ Phil’s $$$?
Why did Mario get bodied by 3-9 Stanford, 2-5 Oregon State, 1-3 Cal, 8-5 ASU, & 5-7 Arizona w/ Phil’s $$$?
Do u realize that Lanning had zero previous coaching experience, yet only has 5 losses on his resume. Those losses?
15-0 UGA
11-2 UW
10-3 OrSt
14-1 UW
14-1 UW
So while Mario was getting bodied by sub .500 teams w/ Phil’s $$$, Lanning w/ allegedly Mario’s players were losing to 10+ win teams w/ Phil’s $$$.
Pls explain.
Save your energy dawg. These mfs are ******* delusional.
At the airport, & I got time! lol
you can only play the teams assigned to youHow about losing to freaking GT 2 years in a row...dude didn't learn to take a knee at Oregon and did the same thing here last year. He only had to win 1 of 2 vs GT and Syracuse to make the ACCCG.
Yeah, we went from 7-5 to 10-2 this year with the easiest schedule one could ever hope for and a GENERATIONAL QB and still didn't get it done.
NWK - LOL ....Lol really?
Here is a dose of the truth:If you think Oregon and Miami’s situation are the same and they started at the same place there is nothing can be said because you aren’t logical and don’t want the truth.
Oregon has over a 70% win pct over the last 2 decades.
Oregon has elite facilities and single NIL spender who can/will and does outspend all of Miami nil efforts combined.
Oregon’s core roster was definitely better than Miamis 3 years ago.
Miami has above average facilities.
Miami has a strong NIL program but is far for the richest.
Miami has been a dumpster fire for 2 decades and have a slightly higher than .500 win %
But yeah sure Dan Lanning’s situation sucked.
Dead..lol Willie would have won 9 games max…They were far from dead. The 3 years before Mario (2015-2017) they went 9-4 (Helfrich), 4-8 (Helfrich), 7-5 (Taggart). Mario went 9-4 his first year. As much as people give Taggart grief he did have Oregon on the upswing.
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this below sooner.you can only play the teams assigned to you
Get over the fact you are in the ACC. It is what it is. Frankly, it wasn't so bad this year.
NWK - LOL ....
Here is a dose of the truth:
When Mario took over at Oregon it was a dumpster fire that had been set in part by Mario himself as he came to Oregon as an asst of the famous one and done Willie Taggert and a season that had more losses than wins.
Oregon has the nicest facilities in college football - True
For the 24-25 season Oregon's projected NIL revenue isn't 1st or 2nd or even 3rd in the Big 10 ...it is 8th! Miami doesn't disclose their numbers or if it does then they are well hidden but likely surpass Oregon's. When you factor in the SEC Oregon would be 12th in the SEC and they would be 19th in a combined SEC Big 10 grouping.
Oregon took a huge gamble on Lanning who had never been a head coach anywhere. In my opinion where Oregon has outdone every other college in the country has been their marketing team ... and their branding. These efforts have been led or at least greatly influenced by Nike ...Their NIL cooperative (Division Street) has it's own shoes and apparel lines and their video series called "Oregon vs Them" is brilliant and makes almost every high school football player want to go play for Lanning and the Ducks Here is my favorite called "Oregon vs Them ...The Man in the Arena" recapping their game prep for their game in the Big House. My second favorite is their recap of the Ohio State game. Seriously check them out you will see what I mean.
