Official Fall Camp PractiSe #7: Wednesday August 9

I hate the idea of bunching the box with a big immobile TE because it will “help the running game.”

Spreading teams out and killing them with your outside weapons if they choose not to go DB heavy and thin out the box, is how you help the running game.
Same. a one dimensional blocking tight end has a use in short yardage type of situations but that's about it.

These reporters need to relax with guessing rotations! Especially, when it comes to skill players during the first 2 weeks of camp. I’ve filmed college practices before. Half of the time the guys aren’t even going in any consistent order during media viewing!!! They have so many fans roused up for no reason. Lol atleast wait until game week to get a legit gage of who’s in the 2 deep or rotation.
I'd only add you don't need to wait for game week to figure out what they're thinking. Around the time of the first scrimmage, they'll have a decent idea of what they're looking for, though I don't think we'll hear anything about it.

Really underrated recruit imo

He’s big, fast, and violent

It was limited film but even though he was really aggressive, he wasn’t reckless. He had good pursuit and patience and then would strike when the opening was there

Was hoping to at least see him on special teams this year I think the staff found one here
Played banged up last year too. I think he’s the penny stock that could surprise some people. Underrated cat that hits. Work ethic and looks every bit of the part.

You’re definitely spot on! I also think a lot of the guys who are injury prone are being protected. I’m sure some will get reps during team periods but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not the normal workload. You know your stuff for sure!

The difference in a year with the o is astonishing
Ha. I know what you mean, but I don't think I'd label it as astonishing. The incredible difference we're likely to see is almost regression to the mean. What was astonishing is that anyone thought last year's approach would work well with what we had. That genuinely astonished me for months.
