Official Fall Camp PractiSe #7: Wednesday August 9

I'd only add you don't need to wait for game week to figure out what they're thinking. Around the time of the first scrimmage, they'll have a decent idea of what they're looking for, though I don't think we'll hear anything about it.
Something noteworthy from Guidry the other day was he said he was trying to figure out what the kids did best, not just saying “here’s my plan let’s see who does it best”

So that reinforces your point. There’s obviously a lot of connecting the dots right now rather than just the “depth chart” (in heavy quotes) being indicative of who’s picking things up faster

Dawson working with receivers on their comeback routes, where to run with their depth and turning to comeback to the ball

Jaleel Skinner working as the first tight end for the second straight day.

Ray Ray is getting some reps on the outside. Restrepo inside of him.
Skinner should move to WR

Really underrated recruit imo

He’s big, fast, and violent

It was limited film but even though he was really aggressive, he wasn’t reckless. He had good pursuit and patience and then would strike when the opening was there

Was hoping to at least see him on special teams this year I think the staff found one here

I remember watching his HL tape when he committed and being very impressed.

His burst and violence when tackling stood out.

I agree that the staff probably found a good one

I hate the idea of bunching the box with a big immobile TE because it will “help the running game.”

Spreading teams out and killing them with your outside weapons if they choose not to go DB heavy and thin out the box, is how you help the running game.
I think the thought is this would be primarily in close to the goal line situations where we have struggled b/c there isnt as much room to stretch everyone out.

lol at least wait until the first game fam. They could have been working on goal line or short yardage sets. You still need those. I do agree with you, I hate the idea of running an offense ANYTHING like last year, but I also hate it being third and one only for it to be fourth and two a play later.

Legit it seems like it has been since greentree all american Trayone "Choc" Gray was taking handoffs at FB since I have felt even somewhat confident about a run up the middle on short yardage lol

Media reports Skinner, our WR-like TE who has shown flashes of greatness, was running with the ones in 11 on 11 and McCormick was running with ones during run blocking drills and the same people who **** on every thing come in here and start creating fantasies about McCormick being our starter.

This site man.
