Other programs have already offered him. Within five minutes of Lo sending out that Tweet 4 schools text him.

If you don't mind me asking, do you know what schools have contacted Lawrence Coleman after the tweet and what schools have offered him?

Thanks for all the inside knowledge you provide, Tweed. It is much appreciated.

My initial thought was UF and Oregon. Wondering about AU and KU. Tweed, did I hit on any of them?

Brooklyndee what you think? should/would the staff take this chance?

Nah. Staff will not waste scholarships on players we don't want. That is the lone reason we don't have Holloman. Again it all about numbers.

I'm pretty sure Richt has played the package deal game before. I personally loathe it.

I doubt he's done it where the bad half of the package comes in a year before the good half is supposed to come. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone do that.

Few and far between. The other way around, yes.

The last major one I could think of was Denzel nkemdiche at ole miss - came a year before his little brother. But, that is siblings; I've never heard of buddies doing it.

It's a different world now. When have you seen so many HS kids jumping schools, and holding press conferences/social media to announce it? Adapt or die. We need to adapt fast to what is going on. It seems that it is happening too fast for us at the moment, especially in SFLA. Time to play the game.

Every single school is recruiting Lo, so you can imagine how many reached out last night. For some reason our fan base is all of a sudden standing on moral high ground. Here is something to think about, LJ is graduating this year and the season has been over for a month now, so why would Lo just randomly send out this Tweet? Could it possibly be that MULTIPLE power 5 schools interested in him have already made the offer? Could it be that he wants the school he's most interested in to make the same offer? This **** isn't rocket science.

Again, our staff playing checkers, that's why Miami will never be Elite again

Why not just call the HC rather than tweet it then?

I'm sure he's got a direct line to the HC of every school he's interested in.

Exactly. Why the subterfuge? Why the necessity in tweeting it? It's as simple as picking up the phone and contacting our staff and let them know what his "terms" are.

Maybe he isn't comfortable doing that? He's a quiet kid man. He doesn't have "terms", he's just simply letting the school he's interested in know that he wants to play with his cousin without going directly to them. He's not that type of kid. If the "right" school offers LJ we have a press conference that week with three kids wearing ugly a$$ suits. LOL

just offer the kid the scholly.

Its a ******* scholarship, it's not the end of the world.

Welp...obviously there isn't a silent offer. Do you know if staff is seriously considering it or are they being foolishly principled? I say that as it seems that LJ is still a good football player and we would go in the driver's seat on two 5 stars. We have schollys so I think it's worth the chancequite frankly. The upside is huge, the downside is more of the same ineptness.

People complain about not being able to compete with other schools cause we don't have the resources and when an opportunity to compete is given they all of the sudden want to ride in on their high horse.

Give the kid a scholly.

Lo said, "Let me play with my cousin somewhere, buy 1 get 2 free". He did not say he's going wherever LJ goes.
.

I thought that's what his Tweet said. Didn't sound like the guarantee you said it was last night.

So just to be clear, it's no longer him guaranteeing it like you said last night?

I'm hoping that the cousin has a silent offer or understanding that will come out on signing day as another poster suggested. This would be a good chess move to keep it low and make the needed inroads without alerting other programs.
Without alerting other programs? These dudes are tweeting the terms to the world. Do you think this is all about UM?

If he's not, at a minimum, promising his services if we sign his cousin then it's bullshît.

I didn't realize the extent of what was happening.

Don't think Richt would do that. This game is a slippery slope. The "offer my boy and I'll come" game is not as prevalent as you all might think. For siblings, sure, but the other sibling has to be a pretty decent prospect. But if not, this is a dangerous game to play with kids. Jmo

There is seemingly no down side to the deal. Scholarships are renewable so a player can be cut per se if needed. We are devoid of talent, and for the star chasers we only have two 5* players on the roster. We can double that by doing the deal.

Cuz comes from 5* bloodlines. That does not mean he will be an impact player, but that plus the chance to be on the field with his family may make him one of those classic UM players that is about his team, plays with heart and gives 110% (those SFLA specials we all talk about - even though he is not from SFLA).

Checkers and chess boys, which game do you want to play boys?
There's no downside to you to letting a recruit dictate offers a year ahead to the weak part of the package deal because it's not your money, job, team and reputation on the line.

Siblings. Apples and oranges. Plus Denzel was an Old **** level recruit when they signed him. They were a 2 and 3 star factory before they went on that buying spree. Denzel fit right in.

Definitely agree. It's a Pandora's box of sorts. Terrible situation to be in with a highly rated recruit and the message it sends to future 5* kids sucks. But IMO you gotta play the game.

Why is it such a risk to be in the driver's seat? I get that it's not ideal at all but the cousin is supposedly decent and we could use DB depth. If Lingard goes back on his word in a year then you cut the cousin free.
