Coach Banda

Utah State is 8-2. They were 1-5 last year, losing by an average of 23 points.

On defense, they are allowing nine fewer points per game than last year and improved 36 spots in scoring defense.

Banda and Coach Zuck (former Miami QC/Utah State LB coach) are doing an excellent job.
Banda was a beast on the trail kids outspoken have said it. Everyone knows he was a dog except weirdos that wear suspenders. Don't explain it to them @DMoney fuqem let them be.....they let feelings of not liking someone get in the way of real ****.

You get a big lead on a team and force them to be one dimensional. It can take away the strength of a team and scoring becomes a bit more complex that’s simple football lol they “hold”opponents to around 26 points a game but if you dig deeper teams really have no trouble moving the ball on them at all.
But a team needs stops to get a lead. And Utah State's new offense has actually made it harder on Banda in many ways. Utah State went from 123rd in plays per game to 2nd. They are playing at a much faster pace, which hurts the defense from a total yards and scoring defense standpoint, on top of just wearing them out.

Yet, they've still improved significantly in every major defensive stat year over year.

Alot of this Banda hate is starting to sound personal. Nobody said he was the DC of the year. He gets a bad wrap on here for a guy who recruited a position group that could very well be elite if coached by the right guys. Not understanding why folks cant just give him props for what he did here, how he recruited here and let it be that. The bartender jokes are played out. But I digress.

Fair enough man

So he's not that guy right?

I went to Utah State undergrad and have season tickets. The defense is miles better than it was last year. Part of that is guys they brought in from Miami (Joyner), Texas, Michigan, and a few other places and part of it is they actually look like they enjoy what they are doing. It is pretty infuriating to watch the same dumb **** from both of my teams and Banda does a lot of the same blitzes from a mile away that have no impact, soft coverage to the field side, getting out of gaps or not controlling edges, etc. but it is much better than their defense last year.

They got key stops at the end of close games against Washington State and UNLV. They got gashed by Air Force and got lucky that Colorado State botched a late field goal attempt, but they have generally been adequate, which is a big improvement.

The Manny Diaz scheme, or whoever was the originator of it, is very difficult with teams, without a senior or good qb, or a sr or good oline.
Same reason why Miami, at least used to beat up on lesser teams, but after 6 years of seeing it, coach study things...

I've always believed as the HC you have to changed your OC and DC minimum every 3 years because the book is out, in your conference on how to beat and/or stop it, unless you have a Coordinator that actually adapts to the players, which at the NCAA and NFL level seems to be the other way around oddly.

Banda is a smart guy. He’s got personality; lots of potential to grow into an elite recruiter at the right program. I think he’ll have a nice career arc. I’d love to have guys like Banda and Coley on a Mario staff in some capacity.

They do well situationally just like Miami. Some bend don’t break stands here and there but for the most part teams do what they want at Will on them when the score is still manageable. Their offense usually makes the other team abandon the run game tho

Uhhhh don’t you get a big lead by making stops?

If anything blowouts pad stays for the offense when defense goes into a shell

All “stops”are not created equal but if you think it’s as simple as you’re implying this isn’t the conversation you and I should be having

He is running a better defense than Manny boy. And there is a non zero chance that Utah State would beat our happy *** on a neutral field.
