Canes to B1G?

You have no idea what you’re talking about. I use to work for a major sports franchise in this market and knew many of the guys at 790 and 560. Trust me when I say, those radio guys know important people in all the sports teams. Teams want the media to be on their side and radio people want free tickets and access to athletes.

I’m not saying what Mike Ryan is saying is true but to discredit him because he’s not affiliated with college football is absurd. Ryan is a huge Canes fan and he has contacts.

Tell me the last big national sports story they broke with all their contacts.

As someone else said, it goes both ways. Yes our guys will freeze their balls off but when Michigan goes from playing in 20 degree weather to 85 with 90% humidity in December, their players will be passing out on the field by the third quarter.
Better yet playing them in 100 in Septemeber.

You’re right! It’s not like Ohio State have been doing it for years or anything.

Cherry picking players versus depending on the entire SFL area to build your team up north is two different things. 99% of our recruiting base is in the south. Miami is located the furthers south going to the BIG10 would be the end of any recruiting momentum we’ve gained in this area.

Mike Ryan is a producer to show so I doubt you’ll find any from him. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t hear things. This is very out of character of him so I was surprised when I read the story. I take it for what it’s worth but it’s definitely interesting.

Not if we join the Big 10. The level of comp is right up there with the SEC. now the one thing I would say is that we shouldn’t go alone and should try to bring at least VT with us and see if we can somehow help the Big 10 scoop up ND because if super conferences are becoming legit(they are) then scheduling for ND is going to get 3x harder.

LOL yeah right. Everyone is going to be in the SEC but Ohio State, and theyd probably jump and get in.

Have you seen the ACC? You can’t be that stupid. Big 10 is a much better league. I rather play Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin than UNC, GT, Louisville of the world’s.

Fck the ACC that’s not the point… do you know why more kids in the south prefer committing to ACC schools if it’s not the SEC?? Bc they don’t give af about the BIG 10 so get that thru your fckn heads ppl!!

The BIG 10 has no pull in the south aside from Ohio State being able to cherry pick here and there. You think florida kids want to play every **** away game in the north?? They don’t even know most of the kids that play in the BIG 10. Miami going to the BIG 10 is suicide case closed.

Nor sure if you're serious but Michigan Penn State and Nebraska all have success recruiting Florida. Nebraska has even more success losing them to the portal.

Being old school, I always thought that different parts of the country had there teams in there own divisions to play and compete with other parts of the country.

This brought a lot of north vs south who’s the best ( example )

Now soon s team 3000 miles away snow bound or on the west coast can be in the Deep South SEC division

This all seems very weird to me , am I alone in this ?

GOCANES

I wish for the day they can just do away with conferences and just have divisions

Nah, you’re not alone. The conferences need to die and move to divisions (8-10) with like 8-10 teams each.

PROBLEM: How does Miami figure out to play in real cold and snow several games a year?

Don't get me wromg, our Canes have a money halfback pass in the snow pass tree.

Gotta be built very different.
Miami goes into a Coma when the temp hits 55°f..

FWIW (or not worth), gotta figure the Big Ten would take UNC, UVa and Duke in a hot minute.

So if we did end up in the Big Ten, probably a pretty good chance we would NOT be the only team in the Southeast part of the country
