Canes to B1G?

The Big 10 will not take a school not accredited by the AAU. Miami is not so accredited. Also the Big 10 has never taken school that did not have a wrestling program. The Big 10 wants what it considers complimentary institutions.

The rules are changing, but I doubt they change that much.
I haven't read through the rest of the replies, so maybe someone else already floated this, but it's been kicked around that perhaps some of these arrangements would be football only (like the opposite of ND). Now of course that begs the question of where would Miami's (or any other school with this arrangement) none football sports play? Would the ACC allow Miami to leave for football, but stay for everything else? I would think not.

This is getting ridiculous. Playing musical chairs with regards to conferences is obviously terrible for the sport.

How many programs would get harmed by UT, OU, FSU, and CU all joining the SEC? 20? I mean... come on, can we stop with this wannabe super league nonsense?

Long-term Options from most to least desirable:
1. SEC(y)(y)(y)
2. Big Ten(y)
3. Return to pre-1991 independent status :cautious:
40. Drop football 😭
41. Focus on building up soccer program 🥱
42. Remain in league with other ACC orphans :****:
Drop football higher than stay in the ACC, are you mentally disabled?

The Big 10 & ACC should merge right now if they were smart

As I have mentioned in other threads, the ACC is an NC centric basketball conference. From a football perspective, there are only 5 or 6 teams worth their salt, and that becomes 3-4 if Clemson and FSU move to the $EC.

It's a interesting debate as to which area is a better cultural fit for Miami. Miami isn't a southern redneck town. You have a lot of folks from the eastern seaboard and especially from the New York/New Jersey area. The school fancies itself as being a rich private school with top academics, which isn't exactly the reputation of the SEC (minus Vandy).
To me it's pretty obvious that the SEC is not a good fit culturally for Miami.

Mon ami, this is about money and greed, the old rules dont apply. Nebraska is not an AAU member either.

Imagine trying to recruit kids in the south to convince them to want to travel north to play BIG 10 schools every year??… We would be gifting our entire recruiting base to FSU Florida Clemson and the SEC. 🗑🗑🗑
You’re right! It’s not like Ohio State have been doing it for years or anything.

LMAO.

So let me get this str8:

We’ve been mired in mediocrity since joining “The Mighty ACC”, playing in the division w/ the awesome Duke Blue Devils, the stampede of The Tarheels of UNC, the ever ferocious Panthers of Pittsburgh, PA, the Swift Swordsmen of Virginia, The Turkey Goblets of Virginia Tech, and the rambling bumble bees of Georgia Tech….that’s our formidable competition & we’ve won that bih ONE TIME, although we’ve out recruited all said schools **** near every yr besides 4 cycles (UNC-2009, 2017, 2020 & VT-2019).
Yet now, u wanna go to the B1G which has OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, PSU, and Indiana?? Where Northwestern is also an up & coming school??

I’m lost.

It’s not a great option, but it might be our only. The SEC will not take us. We can’t stay in the ACC. This whole situation is because we have a beta cuck AD and a leadership team with no vision. Reactionary garbage
I am by no means a Blake supporter, but realignment has been driven by the league commissioners, and the $EC has had good ones, and we had an awful one until recently.
