Canes ranked 12th tonight

When they jumped us for beating Mercer while we were on a bye…
The committee knew what they were doing.
Still crazy to me that we drop 6 spots after losing to a now ranked cuse team on the road by 4. The same amount of spots as bama drops after losing to a 6-6 OU team by 21. And OSU drops 4 after losing to a 7-5 michigan team.

Dammit man.. I’m numb to the fact of this program letting me down. But my son who is 7 just asked if we made it … I told him no..and he quietly walked upstairs in tears. I asked what’s the matter? He said “I really wanted to see Cam Ward again”. Did I curse him when I made him a fan of our fateful Canes? 😕

This is the part that hits different man. Can’t believe we saw cam play his last game..

The thing I am most offended by is Reece Davis bringing up Cal and VT ref calls. I have not seen anyone discuss the much more egregious serious of breaks that allowed Georgia to beat GT.

I was screaming at my tv when Rece started that . I couldn't believe it. The work of a desperate Bama alum/ESPN minion trying to justify their agenda.

If we're comparing teams with different records, I don't know why an 11-1 indiana that lost its only ranked matchup is any better than a 10-2 miami
I agree. Especially when Miami’s losses were vs 2 solid teams in hostile environments and Indiana basically starts off the season 4-0 playing the Sun Belt Conference.

But again, Miami is at fault. They left it up to the committee and deservedly got ****ed.

They have no business losing two games to GT & Syracuse. One was acceptable. Two was not.

Have you watched IU play? IU is pretty good. Really well coached. Margin of victory is highest or among highest in the country. The OSU game was 7-7 with a couple minutes left in the 1H then IU gifted OSU 2 TDs on special teams gaffes on both sides of halftime that turned the game (plus OSU scored a late style points TD after an onside kick).

The takeaway here is that we effectively start the season 1.5 games back from most every SEC and B1G team. And that SEC and B1G are going to get the 4 teams they want every year barring some absurdity. And perhaps that we have nothing to gain scheduling strong OOC games because they apparently can only hurt us.
I did watch them play. I don’t disagree with you.

Indiana is a very good team. Are they 11-1 good. Absolutely not. Are we 10-2 good. Nope but at least we faced those tougher teams and most on the road.

FIU, WIU, Charlotte and Purdue - when you compare those opponents, they are worse than our weaker opponents with the exception of FAMU and Ball State.

In the end, Indiana won and handled business and Miami did not.

I think I more ****ed about Bama getting in more than anything.

How is this a ******* playoff team but we aren’t.

Let’s be honest, what’s our record playing Alabama’s schedule? Would Alabama beat us?

We are a .500 SEC / Big 10 team who just happened to have a cake schedule and a fantastic QB. We couldn’t even get that right with multiple Top 10 Recruiting classes.

I'm curious as to what you mouthbreathers want anyone at the ACC to do. Phillips could talk and argue all he wants, it doesn't matter. ESPN has made up their minds and the BILLIONS they are spending on the SEC matters more than doing the right thing. Miami Is 10-2 with a convincing win over an SEC school in OOC. Miami played a solid OOC schedule with multiple bowl eligible teams, Miami beat other decent teams in ACC Play and lost to 9 win and 7 win teams on the road by less than a touchdown. None of it matters, because it says ACC on our uniforms. An SEC team with our resume would be a no doubt entry.
I am sorry. Did you call me a mouth breather?

Putting aside that it is two words, could you please elaborate. After graduating from Miami, I went on to a top 25 law school. I was then a federal law clerk. I then worked at law firms doing commercial litigation and then on to in house counsel at financial institutions where I remain.

Now, I say maybe don’t have a beta running your league. Canedude08 the genius says just sit back and take it because Canedude08 can’t think of a better path forward. If Canedude08 can’t figure it out, it is best to stick with a beta commissioner.

Maybe Canedude08, there might be an actually aggressive leader who could make progress. You sound like Jimmy Carter in 1980. “We just have to accept that the best days are behind us.” We tossed out Carter and put in Reagan. Leaders absolutely matter.

We would probably be 9-3.

Maybe they’ll change the ranking next week because this is crazy. The only SEC team imo that had a chance was South Carolina
The said they wouldn’t reevaluate teams that are not playing, but they could with enough outrage and money.

The biggest game last weekend outside of our own was UT vs Vandy. If UT lost we were in no questions.

I blame the ACC for continuing to hose Miami game in and game out. The Syracuse game could have been very different if the BS holding call was not called on Rivers. Don’t get me started on the George penalty. George wasn’t smart in that moment, but you don’t call a 15 yard penalty there if you truly want two teams in the playoffs. Now the ACC is calling foul that Miami doesn’t get in? Well where was the cry of foul when we played GT and Horton gets rag dolled all the way down the field and ends up with his jersey half pulled off? Where was the cry of foul for the BS targeting call on Moten? You let the Tobacco Road refs act like they have since Miami joined this conference and now you cry foul? You can’t have it both ways clowns. It’s on you for not sending a message about stopping the blatantly biased Refereeing. When you watch Restrepo score two TD’s against Syracuse and for some odd reason he gets marked out at the 2 both times, you know something is up. In both those situations you let the play go and let replay sort it out. But no, you got some paid off line judge just itching to call him short even though there was no evidence his feet ever were out of bounds. ****es me off man. We need out of this conference. **** let’s go Independent. Works for ND.
