Canes ranked 12th tonight

Let’s be honest, what’s our record playing Alabama’s schedule? Would Alabama beat us?

We are a .500 SEC / Big 10 team who just happened to have a cake schedule and a fantastic QB. We couldn’t even get that right with multiple Top 10 Recruiting classes.

Idk, that’s a hypothetical. But I can say with certainty, we wouldn’t have lost 24-3 to Oklahoma.

People only look at it from one direction. You’ve been duped by the media narratives.

If Bama can get dusted by OU and only score 3, and give up 40 to Vandy who lost to 6 teams this season, they why couldn’t say Louisville, ‘Cuse, and GT beat them too? Like there’s no good reason. Depending on the day, they certainly could. Their QB is a RB. They’re not all that.

I am sorry. Did you call me a mouth breather?

Putting aside that it is two words, could you please elaborate. After graduating from Miami, I went on to a top 25 law school. I was then a federal law clerk. I then worked at law firms doing commercial litigation and then on to in house counsel at financial institutions where I remain.

Now, I say maybe don’t have a beta running your league. Canedude08 the genius says just sit back and take it because Canedude08 can’t think of a better path forward. If Canedude08 can’t figure it out, it is best to stick with a beta commissioner.

Maybe Canedude08, there might be an actually aggressive leader who could make progress. You sound like Jimmy Carter in 1980. “We just have to accept that the best days are behind us.” We tossed out Carter and put in Reagan. Leaders absolutely matter.

Thanks for telling us all about your resume(no one is impressed BTW), it still doesn't change the fact that no amount of politicking will change the fact that this is a fait accompli. ACC stood up for FSU last year, didn't matter. Mario, Rad, other ACC coaches have all come out and said that Miami should be in, EVEN BEFORE THE POLL CAME OUT. What happened? They sat there and put Alabama in, despite there not being any legitimate case for Bama, or any of the other 9-3 SEC schools. ESPN is going to protect their investment, and the best way to do that is to push a narrative that only SEC schools deserve to be in as at larges, even if that means a team has 3 losses.

Did you not watch the poll reveal? They are already trying to find a way to ace SMU out, if they are upset in the ACC Championship. Yep, these hicks are really willing to listen to reason.

By the way, Reagan getting elected was hardly the accomplishment you think it is. Still waiting for that trickle down thing to work out, it hasn't and we're 4 decades in. Have you "Just Said No" today?

Anybody pulling the “We only have ourselves to blame“ is such a stupid ******* dip****. The committee could not be more clear that an ACC team’s only path to the playoffs is to win the conference. That turkey neck **** Warde is already letting us know Bama is going to jump SMU if Clemson beats them. Bama lost THREE ******* GAMES. To bad teams. Know what their fans weren’t doing? Saying they deserved to be left out. They were pulling mental gymnastics to prove that 9-3 is better than 10-2.

This is why the SEC has been able to do what it’s done. They don’t ******* pull the “We should’ve won every game it’s on us” bull****. They screech about how they just had the hardest path because they’re better until it has completely infiltrated the public perception.

Stop being okay with having to be perfect. Stop ****ting on the conference to try to have some kind of moral high ground.

Anyway. Made the mistake of seeing a college friends’ tweets and had to get that out. **** Bama. **** the CFP. And **** that fat goblin Warde.

My condolences. Are you at least in like Huntsville lol
Fairhope near Gulf Shores. Not terrible, actually.

But I hear Roll Tide in my fk’n sleep. Thought I was in for a treat the way things were playing out, was wearing my Miami gear in silence and letting the rankings speak for themselves. Had my chest poked out a bit for ‘em. But of course Miami did Miami things. Feel bad for my kids lol, they rock with us but **** I feel guilty sometimes.

Louisville
One interesting question on one of the committee’s main talking points—how is Missouri 19 and Duke unranked? I think Duke is the only major conference team with 3 losses that is not ranked. And the 3 losses are SMU (OT), at UM, and at GT in a game they were leading going into the 4th. Missouri played nobody and lost by 31 to A&M and 34 to Bama along with a close loss to USCe. It dropped 3 spots losing to by 34 to Bama and did not drop at all losing to USCe.

Also, how is Syracuse 2 spots behind a UNLV team they beat? Fewer losses in an inferior conference? Hmmm.

Miami lost 2 of their last 3 to close out the year. Not sure what you are trying to prove but cool flex.
Yes but we won 10 out of the last 12. The point is its an arbitrary statement.

I get that your schtick is apparently to just be a raging ******* but at 11pm after 10 hours typing away nonsense maybe give it a rest.

I actually almost said Huntsville or Fairhope. Nice area, all things considered.

But the Roll Tides and War Eagles never go away lol. Days like today make me wish I had just been a Bama fan so I could just have better football seasons. Instead I just had to be the ******* walking around campus in Tuscaloosa in Miami gear.

We have ourselves to blame of course, but that doesn't mean the committee's rankings are justified.

I shared a little info from a trusted source about the committee’s dilemma, along w/ the case for & against both programs.

My guy said “his gut” feel would be we would edge out Bama purely based on optics & backlash that may come, but Warde Manuel chose the S.O.S & nerd stats as opposed the 10 wins v. 9 win argument.

The fact is if we beat Cuse, we’re in regardless. We left this up to interpretation, and losing 2/3 to end the season to two unranked teams put us under a bigger microscope. To be blunt, I likened this to the kneel situation last season. Take care of business, & this is a not even a discussion; but, since it’s become a discussion:

It boiled down to this:
Miami opponent’s record: 74-70 (.514 win%)
Bama opponent’s record: 92-52 (.639 win%)

Miami’s conference opponent’s record: 51-45 (.531)
Bama’s conference opponent’s record: 63-33 (.656)

Miami’s quality wins: 0
Bama’s quality wins: 3

So yes, while Bama did lose 2 bad games, it also hurt that we limped down our schedule during ACC play. The ? became if Miami is struggling against inferior opponents, what will happen in the CFP? Albeit Bama lost to 2 bad conference opponents, Bama had also proven to be able to compete & beat current CFP ranked teams. So it wasn’t just us losing 2/3 to end the season, it was also that we struggled against non CFP ranked teams, & truthfully, I heard some felt we were lucky to be a 10 win team. We got the FSU treatment based upon how FSU looked w/o Travis, they saw we weren’t the same Miami pre-ACC play.

This was literally just told to me; hence, y I had a DM telling my peoples I know we don’t believe in the whole “ACC, ACC” bull ****, but we really need to start rooting for VA Tech, Cal, & UL just in case November bites us in the *** again, b/c if it comes to splitting hairs, the committee is going to choose S.O.S if we stumble & don’t make it to the ACCCG.

I don’t agree w/ it, but u never leave in the hands of others. This is legit fumbling the bag.

Yeah, completely agree on this. Duke’s 9 wins were poor, but so were Mizzou, & I would argue Mizzou’s 9 wins were of poorer quality than Duke’s.
