Canes QB Ryan Williams says he's still targeting Wk 1 start

All i want to know is, where da white women at

This thread is a disaster, can the mods please lock it oh my god.

i'm usually in agreement w/ weownfsu, but, our skill position players are better than last year. hurns was good, but, coley will be better as a soph, and johnson and yearby in the backfield. sorry, the skill position players are better and deeper this year than last.

It's a fair opinion. I just don't think our skill position players are good enough to save us from bad QB play.

The skill players are older and talented they will be better. Not even close!

Like everyone that speaks negative on any and every subject that comes up on this site.

I have seen some reasonable posts about the shortcomings of this program like the issues with the coaching staff from you and Wildcatoffense (or some ish like that).

But at the same time, others will post negative crap just for the sake of being negative. Almost as if they have an agenda. We have our own fans guaranteeing we get blown out by Louisville like we are some 1AA school (yes I still say 1AA). We have fans making videos showing how pumped they are for the season, then basically gets told to sit down and STFU by the same fan base. Like, "Wea dey do dat at". Thats something you would expect from another team's fan base. I keep seeing posts saying Golden has us in a worst spot then Shannon but have yet to see someone explain how with any kind of logic.

Im new here, so sorry if that's how things work here. But to anyone guaranteeing we get blown out against any team or just being straight up negative about our program just for the sake of; I will say to you what I would say to any FSU or Gator fan, **** you and suck my ****

Yeah it's not like we got blown out by Louisville in the last game we played or anything.
So with that logic, we are never going to beat FSU again huh? I guess Bama is going to play like crap to huh? They were blown out by Okla. And since we have such a bum of a QB, get your raggedy *** enrolled and lets see what you can do.

This the exact same **** I was talking about. You are not providing any constructive criticism towards your own team. Just outright bashing them. Thats what fsu and gator fans do to us. What's the point of even following the team or wasting your time on here if you feel like this program is in shambles. And people wonder why this city has a rep of having fair weather fans.

No, you imbecile. That's not my "logic." My logic is that its not absurd to predict that a team that just beat the **** out of us is going to do it one year later, like you want it to be. If you can't see the difference between saying "team that blew us out in 2013 might do it again in 2014" and "team that blew us out in 2013 will never lose to Miami again" then maybe you need to go take a logic class at the local community college.

I don't need to provide "constructive criticism" because my criticism doesn't count for ****. I'm just a fan here discussing the team. I'm not here to pump up the team. Duke Johnson doesn't read my post and go "hrm, yeah, I definitely need to work on my blocking!" I give my honest opinions. If you disagree, that's fine, but your petulant behavior doesn't add to the discourse at all. I don't need to be an all-star QB to be a UM fan, either.

LOL @ you asking why I'm following the team if I feel the program is in shambles, then calling me a fairweather fan. You might be too stupid to breathe.

And if you weren't such a moron, you'd realize that I said we're in danger of a 5-7 season without Williams. That's not calling him a bum, genius.

So it's now they "might" blow us out again huh? And you are right, nobody of significant importance is going to read any of this and this is for "fans" to entertain themselves, which is why im calling you out for bashing the team.

Please show me where I said you had to be an all star qb to be a fan. What I did say was "get your raggedy *** enrolled and lets see what you can do". But yet, I need community college classes huh....I guess your exact post wasn't, "im glad to know our offense is so elite, we can start bums at qb and still be fine". I guess im such a moron that I missed the part in that post that says without Williams. While we are at it, please explain how you come to the conclusion that we have bums at qb. If someone came from UF's board saying that ****, everyone would be at his neck. But im sorry, I forgot you are just a UM fan discussing UM football.

Also you still following team does not exclude you from being a fair weathered fan just so you know.

That's a **** of a word salad. Can you translate for us English-speaking folk?

"Also you still following team does not exclude you from being a fair weathered fan just so you know."

Actually, it does. Maybe you should look up the definition of a fair weather fan before you make your own up again.

And I never gave a prediction about what would happen in the Louisville game. What I did say was that you crying about people saying how a team that just beat us by 27 points might do so one season later is dumb, and that your analogies are god-awful.

This is what I was trying to reiterate to you earlier in this thread. Last year we had bad QB play from Morris. Most would agree that he underachieved especially after the finishing the season the way he did the year before. The defense was horrible but we were still able to win 9 games. That was in large part due to our skill positions on offense. The majority of those players will be back.

And this is what I am telling you: the guys who couldn't beat out Morris aren't better than him, so your point is moot.

It's a scary thought. I have a sickening feeling that Stephen Morris will be a legend here by the time week 6 rolls around. With natural progression I think the skills positions are better, with TE being a dark horse for big production (well you know what I mean) but there's one giant question mark at the most important spot. It's a **** good group to be breaking in a new QB though

Crying about what may be 49 days in advance is really sad.

I understand there is a huge question mark at QB, but why destroy a thread about the guy fighting his way back just to *****?
- Heaps - Zero known about him with our team.
- Williams - Limited information as a starter. Coming off major injury.
- Crow - No major snaps
- Olsen - RS Freshman
- Kaaya - Freshman
- Rosier - Freshman

Programs start inexperienced QB every year. If these journey men or young bucks can't make some sort of positive impact this coming season. It just shows proof of what a horrible hire Golden was and what a bad judgement call the Coley hire was.

Houston, Cal, TT and PSU all showed that even without loaded skill positions True frosh QB could come in and have a promising impact out the gate.

Franchise is right. Our skill positions didn't do anything against the top half of our schedule, which were all blowout losses, BTW.

You can point out all my bad analogies and spelling errors all you want. You know what I mean.

This is getting redundant so we can agree to disagree. But to clarify, I wasn't referring to you or any of the BS you have been posting with my first post. You are the one the quoted me. I guess the shoe fits.

That is only partially true.

vs Duke we had 565 yards of offense. Crawford, Waters, Hurns all went for over a hundred
vs VTech we threw for 300+
vs FSU we didn't do much but Duke and Hurns had solid games
vs Louisville we did next to nothing

Everyone knows the 2 main issues on the team last year, skill position production wasn't one of them. Those 2 are the main question marks this year as well.

#Canes QB Ryan Williams having Adrian Peterson-like recovery from April's ACC tear...still might play in opener #BionicCane

You guys are acting like if Williams isn't back by the first game the season is over. And that kind of thinking is just plain stupid. Even if he doesn't come back until the week after Nebraska, I think the worst we do is lose to Louisville and Nebraska, and in NO way does that mean the season is over. Once Williams gets back, we still have the entire season to play, including all our coastal games, so really that's when the season is just starting for us.
Also, It didn't really matter if Williams was better than Morris or not, because Golden wasn't about to pull him, Especially since we were undefeated by the time we played FSU. The truth is Morris was locked into the starting spot, just like Duke is this year.
But, Our team is definetly better than last year. Morris was terrible. Duke was hurt for half the season. Crawford was decent at best(although he did well in redzone), so Yearby should be an upgrade. Dorsett was out ever since the UNC game. Rashawn Scott missed the first half of the season. Malcolm Lewis was coming off a terrible injury. And now our best most talented player besides Duke (Coley) should have a much greater role in the offense this year. If Duke really is completely healthy, our offense will be better.

Not true.

Instead of UF, Savannah State, and FAU, we have:

Cincinnati
Nebraska
Arky St.

Nebraska is an away game, which will be tough. They aren't a great team but they win 8+ games just about every year with Pelinni, and Golden has one win against a team with 8 or more wins in his career at UM. He has 12 losses. I'm not expecting UM to win that game, because we haven't shown that we can beat even good teams with this coaching staff, and the game is on the road in a very hostile environment. Cincinnati could be a tough game, too. They're well coached and they were a solid team last year. In any event, they're better than FAU by a long shot. Arkansas St. is likewise a team that won a bowl game last year--far cry from a team like Savannah St.

Our out of conference schedule is much tougher this year, and then our in conference schedule is basically the same except that we also have Louisville on the road.

If Williams IS back, the season is over. Said that all along.

If he's not, season is over. 4 years in and Golden has us at the lowest QB situation we have ever had. (Even Freeman and Wright that season with Radio looks like Quarterback U compared to Heap and Williams)

Great. Maybe we can have another incredible 9 win season because it seems that's what the dumbed down expectations around here consider top notch stuff.

Biggest problem I see with Heaps is that he takes a ton of sacks, which means he processes information slowly in the heat of game action. What makes this doubly troublesome is that he has to learn our playbook in a very short period of time, which means he'll be thinking even more on the field. I can see a deer in the headlights type of situation with him if Williams isn't ready to go.

My ilk. Of course. Always the divisive bull****. You post a sarcastic comment and people didn't care for it and then you argue for 6 pages. Nothing I said has anything to do with blind optimism unless don't **** on Williams for having a good work ethic or there will be more playmakers on the field game one than last time we played is blind optimism.

Duke, Dorsett and Yearby > Hurns --- pretty ******* simple --- blind to not see that.
