Can We All Agree On One Thing?

Olsen is a redshirt Fr. He has been here. If he is not ready its on the coaches. If the defense doesnt do a 180 its on the coaches. But whts new....I have felt that way since the second season of Golden's tenure. Some want to give them endless leeway to failure. Records doesn't say it all. When I look at our team from last year winning 9 games was a farce. The ACC performance was as putrid as it comes. Worst than anything I witnessed under Shannon....and thats saying something. I have zero expectations. If the alumni and the admin is ok with that then we will continue being beating sticks for Duke and UL...and UVA. And btw the ones who are saying Golden is gonna turn it around. He is bolting if we have a decent season.

Maybe you forget 5-7. 48-0. Freeman 1-14 vs NC State. Jacory's three first half picks in the Sun Bowl. Things were bad last season but lest we not forget how bad it can truly get.

Thank you. Add losing the Duke and NCAA problems. Memories are often painfully short!

Back on point, what I want to see most of all is progress on both sides of the ball (pressure on the coordinators) and competitiveness. I want to go into every game thinking we can win, and at some point, that we SHOULD win.

At what point do you begin to have real expectations for our staff? 8 years?

This staff gets so many excuses... And the standards are so low.... For the past 3 seasons this staff should not have won less than 8 games... We had holes but this team should have fared better... There's no excuses... If they lay an egg in year 4 it's on them...

If we can get through Louisville and Nebraska undefeated (not saying that its going to happen) but if we did I like our chances being undefeated going up to Blacksburg for that thursday night game

"But but I just hope we look competitive"

Never seen so many grown men scared to have goals in my life. ******* sad.

This board is littered with these pussies...

I don't think anybody is scared to have goals. We're just aware of how bad the program was three years ago. It has finally is starting to look promising again however. My goal for the season is to reach double digit wins for the first time in a decade.

This fanbase is petrified to have goals and expectations.

This team wasn't that bad 4 years ago... It wasnt that bad... The previous coach was expected to have double digit wins and he failed to do that and was fired... As of right now, the team was in better shape 4 years ago... This year there are no expectations... Just a bunch of excuses... The two qbs on top of our depth chart are transfers... That's a telling sign in its own right...

Golden jaded them with that speech when he first came. But they haven't realized **** realized he in over his head and tried to bolt to Pedo St. And dont think he wont do it again. That with his defiant defense of No D makes u realize they have no clue. No expectations..... thats what we have been reduced to. The more they get into their tenure the less expectations. Sad

10 wins or GTFO.

But the excuse machine is already up and prepping for early blowout losses to Louisville and Nebraska. Golden and Co will blame the QB but we will give up 500+ yards in each game.

I'd love to eat crow at end of year but I don't expect to

They may lose the coastal but if they lose a game in the coastal I'm going to flop on the ground, kick the first cat I see, and commence to moping at an unprecedented levels of mopery. This team has the horses, time to get back to being Canes.

Nahhhh, you can blame your predecessor for your failures for AT LEAST 8 years.

I used to have goals and expectations. Then Radio decided not to recruit them and opted for 2 stars out of Buffalo. Then Golden got here and kicked New Jersey sized piles of dirt on them.

You're ****ting me? Tell me you actually believe what you just said. Provide some objective facts to back up what you said.

Sad to say, but if we don't win 9 games this year and contend for the Coastal all season, then it might be time for Al to get rid of Jethro and/or Kehoe. He's going to need to send a firm but fair message to his staff, team, and the fans if we can't meet those goals.

We are finally on par from a talent perspective with the top Coastal teams, so there's no reason we shouldn't be grinding it out with the top clubs all year.
