Battle's OSU Visit

How many safeties should we take this year? Keontra Smith, TS, and MAR? Even just two of those three would be an elite haul at the position.

Only ones we need are smith, Stevenson and Richards who both could play corner too

QUOTE="pacusmc, post: 3345509, member: 14889"]The price tag in sofla has gone up since cmr got here and kids are cashing in. We can bring Luigi and coley back and the price will get higher and we will miss out again on local 5 star kids. When TC left I knew we would still miss out on the sofla studs.
We don’t t even have the 19 class wrapped up and now we’re wondering if we can keep the 20 class together.
We just finished with the highest ranking in a long time. We are going to open the season with brand new facilities and new state of the art dorms next year. We have one of the highest stipends given to athletes. Our s and c coach and nutrition program is excellent. We put low 3 stars in the league.

But Rumph’s breath is whats stinking it all up? Please.

There is a reason why fine *** women are slurping down ***** form guys older fatter shorter and with less hair than me. And it ain’t theirs salesmanship or persuasion.

We’re going to have to win by getting the best kids we can and doing a **** of a lot of coaching.
However now that I put my tampon back in and stopped the bleeding. We’re in a better position than anyone in the state and that speaks volumes.
Beat LSU and FSU and some of these dudes that are considering somewhere else will catch vapors and might jump on the mothership.

Salesmanship right there.

Until we make some noise like Clemson in the ACC, we can't expect to get any elites. Until then, we will always be second/third choice in line for the elites. Plus, some kids just WANT to leave Miami. We were # 2 in the nation last year at one point and we couldn't keep our :4e49c5euykr1o.jpg: hard. We blew our wad and :****: on ourselves. Until we can show that we are playoff material and beat a Clemson team, continue to expect us to get a good amount of 4 stars, mostly high 3 stars and once in a blue moon 5 star. Plus, we ain't playing the :greedy-dollars: game, so that ain't helpin'. It's simple, you gotta win big if you wanna be big.

Again.. Manny Diaz talks a great game but you lose Top talent like this, you don't win South Florida sorry. Bogle. Stevenson seem to be on the same boat.. hopefully I am more than wrong.
True, but this is when that evals part comes into play. Even if you miss on the elite SFLA kids, do you make the right choices on the back up plans? Cause there is enough talent here to compete nationally with the back up kids. That’s what we need to do. We start winning on the field and sooner or later some of these kids end up here. 2017 was solid, and 2018 was elite. Keep signing good classes and the ship will turn around.

We won’t be elite unless we sign these elite kids but it’s baby steps. Let’s get to being a solid program with rosters with no giant holes in them first. We are almost there but not quite and this current staff has done an exemplary job of getting this roster to where it is now.

Baby steps, we are getting there and I have zero doubt that Richt and the staff get us to that elite level in the next couple of years. Final question will be can they get us over the top to a chip....

Lol once again Rumph gets blamed. We have two DB coaches. One was hired to be a great coach (on the field). The other was hired to recruit. ... So then why does EVERYONE always blame Rumph, but basically completely leave out Banda?

And of course Rumph can never get any credit on here. Regardless, South Florida kids that choose to go to tOSU of all schools are pretty g.ay

Rumph wasnt even recruiting battle.

Battle was 100% an Oh St lead his entire recruitment, then he signs with Oh st.

Are some of you guys retarded? I'm asking that question seriously, no joke.

He's not even the top Safety on our board, Stevenson & Richards are ahead of him.

I know some of yall just started following recruiting like a year or so ago, I just know it. MF's want us to sign 10 STA kids in one class smh lol

Rumph doesn't deserve the blame for losing battle. But for you to actually buy the narrative that he was hired to coach and not recruit speaks volumes about how easily people can be manipulated by what is leaked to members of the media.

The guy was brought in because of his connections to High schools in South Florida and his connections to Miami. He was also an NFL DB and had done a good job coaching Db's at heritage.

He hasn't been able to recruit at the level expected, but he has coached at a high level and because of that his role has changed.

But you can't just let him off the hook and blame Banda for the DB issues.

Thank you, LC El. I really just don't understand this board sometimes. Battle was never a top priority for our staff. Period. And we are not taking no **** 4 or 5 Safeties this cycle. Battle is not a guy you just make room for no matter what. That's Tyrique level, and Battle is not on that level.

So now you're talking Battle or MAR... Really? Is that even a discussion? MAR all day, everyday.

We threw our hat into the Battle sweepstakes late and lost. We realistically probably had about a 30-40% chance of landing him, and even if we did I would not have held my breath until signing day. OSU would have pursued him relentlessly until December, and I can almost guarantee they would have flipped him.

Dude's heart has been set on OSU for the longest. We never had a shot.

Not only that but Ivins mentioned that Smith is at least next to if not above Battle on our board. So bascially we missed on our fourth or at best third target at the position and everyone here is *****ing their panties

It cracks me up when guys on this board get on here and give the “He is X on our recruiting board and not as high or lower than others.” Like anyone on this got **** board has seen our board with their own eyes and know who is higher than who lol.
Sometimes guys are all big time targets and are all getting recruited heavily and will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Just because a kid was offered before another kid doesn’t mean he is higher on the board. Sanguinetti was offered months before Battle, but we probably wouldn’t take that kid now but we obviously would have taken Battle. Just because a kid is ranked higher on 247 than another kid doesn’t mean he is higher on our board than that kid. You heard Manny say he doesn’t give a **** about that.

Y’all are a trip. Now people on here know the order of our DB board, lmao.

And honestly, who cares where he was on our board?? The fact is they wanted him bad and recruited him hard. Whether he was #7 or #1 is actually irrelevant.

I think he has conducted himself with nothing less than class. He gave us a shot - he clearly wanted OSU. And I think his commitment speech calling out thanks to UM coaches is another example of this. We tried our best.

Trying our best ain’t gonna cut it. We need some **** recruiters on D. Losing top DBs is getting really old. It’s ******* embarrassing any way you want to slice it.

Im just stating what an actual insider said on another board as it pertained to the post which I answered to. And when you gonna talk about something I said why dont you stop being a little hoe and quote my comment to leave no specualtion.

Let’s be honest. A majority of these South Florida kids as a whole, suck. Certainly not talent wise, but mentality wise - They ******* suck. There is next to zero pride for the hometown team anymore. A few **** leave for the Bamas and Ohio States of the world, fatten their pockets and have some success, and now seemingly every turncoat down here wants to follow in their footsteps and jump ship. Yea, we will always get a few of those special kids that want to stay home and make the crib great again. But those Duke Johnson types are a rare breed these days. As a whole, at this point, it’s almost more worthwhile spending more of our resources recruiting kids outside of the “State of Miami.” And I cant believe I’m suggesting that. Just look at the success we have had in Duval and with out of state kids like Deejay, Brevin and Mallory. How many south Florida studs does Clemson have? And they’ve had no problem curb stomping us in recent years and getting to the CFP. There are major holes in the wall around Dade, Broward, Palm Beach. Holes that I don’t think having a couple successful seasons or different assistant coaches will fix at this point. It’s these kids mentality and the recruiting practices of these SEC and Urban Meyer led schools that we simply can’t compete with. Not with the NCAA just waiting for us to slip up every chance they can. Took me a while to come to this realization, but lets just keep getting the studs that have chips on their shoulders and can be coached up and developed and win some **** titles. Doesn’t matter where they come from. Let’s get back in to Texas again. Let’s go get that TE from ******* Canada. Lets get QBs from Oregon. We have the most globally recognized brand in college football. Let’s use that **** to our advantage. **** all these front running divas down here.
