Battle's OSU Visit

I expect to see all that bull**** plus some here in the next couple pages as the day progresses.

I didn’t expect us to sign the kid.
Although Richt and co made a big push, I felt ultimately the OSU love was too strong to overcome. Just don’t sugarcoat it and make excuses. We lost a local stud who we made a huge priority to another powerhouse. Ain’t the first time and **** sure won’t be the last. I admire the kid for how he handled the process and he gave us a real opportunity. Keep the foot on the gas with him and you never know. He is worth that due to his talent IMO.

You're misinformed and if reports are true that OSU sold him on playing as CB, that's even more disturbing about our DB recruiting. I like Banda, but ever since he tweeted a pic of Sean Taylor re: Jobe, I've been skeptical. Both Banda & Rumph OK coaches, but they need to step it up in recruiting. Clear as day to me, can't believe it's even a discussion after we whiffed on a lot of top targets last cycle.

Battle is not gone yet, RECRUITING takes twist and turns.. I still think Miami has a shot with Battle, we have a lot of UM commits to help him change his mind, December is awhile away..

At the end of the day, the kid made his decision, but it's not over til he sign the papers!!

Not implying we miss on any guys this cycle, but if Mike Jackson is a first rounder in the upcoming draft... it's going to really help Rumph in the 2020 class esp with holding onto Gray. Johnson being drafted relatively high will help Banda as well. They gotta keep building their resumes

Agreed - I think they can be fine very rounded coaches at one point. Already OK with the Xs & Os. But we're paying an opportunity cost by them kind of learning on the job, which nobody on the board even considers. They bring in DVD and he has not helped at all on the recruiting front.

Defense lacks an ace recruiter for sure, I'm not really sure the philosophy we are going for in assistants. Simpson (believe he will be beast) has no D1 coaching experience, Patke from what I hear is also green, and when we hired Rumph n Banda, they were also green. I'm not against hiring green assistants just not as many at one time.

You can’t whiff on something you never had, it does feels like we shot the ball with 20 seconds left on the close with using our official this early only for him to still commit to osu 2 weeks later. Would rather had waited until later in the process to make a move.

Sit this one out and chill out. DVD is a player personnel guy and at the end of the day he only can do so much in terms of recruiting and his greatest impact is when these kids get on campus.

Stevenson ain’t a done deal to Miami, uga or bama and it’s naive by anyone to proclaim that he is at this point in his recruitment. Just know miami is in a good spot for him.

Props to you @htownkidd... You never fell for the BS.. You called it day one not to do it to ourselves. I'm not doing it to myself with TS or Bogle... Not after the Tyson Campbell recruitment last year. If these kids are not committed by December then they are as good as gone. Luckily CMR has a heck of a 2018 class and some good talent this class as well. Together you have a solid foundation that can maybe make some nosie win a major bowl and help us keep Category 20 together. It sucks to lose Manuel and Avantae but maybe with a strong season we can get Agantae back and have a very strong 2020 class like Storm18.. and if that happens then having storm 18 and Category 20 in the same roster with a bunch of solid to very good players in surge19 , I believe will make us competitive with the Clemsons and Bamas of the world.

This season obviously is huge in terms of on field results.
